If the Ottawa Senators win the Cup:

- I will donate $200 to the Daniel Alfredsson clown academy
- I will not watch hockey for a a period of 12 months
- I will wear a Senators jersey and say I am a Senators fan while walking up and down Yonge Street
- I will praise the city of Ottawa and their fine hockey team for a period of 1 year
- I will acknowledge that hell has finally frozen over
- I will cancel LeafsTV and NHL Centre Ice Package
- I will also give my fantasy team for a total of one year to an associate

I would love to know how many points you guys estimate you'll end up with. Seems to me, that with such a large bet and no points given either way, you both think the other is way off.

Considering the edge DM has in all of this other bets, this bet seems way too close to bet on . I haven't really checked out the lower end guys, so I could be way off. Considering Monkey is making $25 bets where he has a huge edge, it seems odd for him to make a massive bet where he doesn't seem to have an edge.

I'm sure dale has estimated the point totals for every player on either roster, but Serge definitely has the edge at the top end. It'll be interesting to see if DM's depth can make up the ground.

A little independent analysis on this, with no offense intended to either GM. Some of my projections are probably high, some are probably low, but I think when all is said and done that this outline will be pretty close to the actual outcome.

Canadian Gothic Roster

Viable Fantasy Contributors (everyday contributors):
Chris Pronger - Anaheim Ducks (Top 4 Defense, 55-65 points projected)
Tyler Arnason - Colorado Avalanche 1 assist = 1 point (Top 9 forward, 40-50 points projected)
Kyle Calder - Los Angeles Kings (Top 9 forward, 40-50 points projected)
Matthew Lombardi - Calgary Flames (Top 6 forward, could see as many as 75 points)
Mikael Samuelsson - Detroit Red Wings (Top 6 forward, 45-55 points projected)
Todd White - Atlanta Thrashers (Top 6 forward, could see as many as 75 points)
Mike York - Phoenix Coyotes (Top 6 forward, 45-55 points projected)
David Vyborny - Columbus Blue Jackets (Top 6 forward, 55-65 points projected)
Rod Brind'Amour - Carolina Hurricanes 1 assist = 1 point (Top 6 forward, could see as many as 75 points)
Darcy Tucker - Toronto Maple Leafs (Top 6 forward, 55-65 points projected)
Bryan Little - Atlanta Thrashers (Top 6 forward, may see as many as 50 NHL points)

Total Projected Contribution - 630 points

Depth Fantasy Contributors (Everyday players, but limited fantasy contributions):
P.J. Axelsson - Boston Bruins (2nd to 3rd line winger, 25-35 points projected)
Matt Foy - Minnesota Wild (Depth winger, less than 20 points projected)
Sergei Brylin - New Jersey Devils (Depth forward, 35-45 points projected)
Scott Walker - Carolina Hurricanes 1 assist = 1 point (2nd to 3rd line winger, 35-45 points projected)

Result:

This is a remarkably even contest, and will likely come right down to the last weeks of the season to settle the outcome. Serge's team has more high end (70+ points) offensive talent, which offsets the fact that he's carrying a lot of dead weight in the form of prospects that never panned out and raw rookies not quite ready for the NHL. Dale's strength is in team depth, very few top-end stars but also very little dead weight. This will be a lot of fun to watch all season long.
