Wow, I just made a post that made no sense for the situation.

Anyways, how far away is the bubble? If we are close to it, then I fold. If we are 10-15 or more away, then it's a shove. We can't call off that much of our stack, and we are going to need to add to our stack if we want to be able to coast to the seat.

Wow...this is close. You are the 4th shortest stack at this table, which means the other 6 shorties are likely distributed around the other 5 tables. You could assume they all get taken out putting you in 35th of 39. You'll need to chip up, and this is a good spot to pick up a pot or double-up.

I think you have to push.

How hard has it been for folks to steal blinds?

You can actually fold this if you can accumulate some chips without confrontation.. But if half the table is playing this like it's a $4.40, then you need to take the coinflip/disaster here.

people have been playing fast in these, not unusual to have late pos. moers w/ A9/KJ and up

ugh.. then you pretty much have to take the flip here. You can actually get a fold here every now and again from a "stealer" making this a lot closer than you would think. And, of course, we are only in bad shape against AA / KK and if the have that, they deserve chips from AK.

I think youve got to go for it with a push back. a 4x bb raise doesnt scream AA or KK to me, and you should have some decent fold equity against his raising range. With that many players between you and a spot, not playing AK vs an UTG raiser is too tight imo.

Ship it - you are too short to get too cute with it and AK is too good of a hand to fold here.

I was in a similar situation the other day with AKs - I shipped, got 2 callers. They had KK and QQ. The board for once didn't have an Ace (or spades) and the KK held. Unlucky for me, because if I hit I triple up and am in great shape.

I did end up pushing and spiked a King on the flop and went on to sat. in (mini brag?). I saw no option other than pushing b/c if UTG has a legit hand Im still a coinflip or possibly dominating and if he/she has AA/KK so be it gg me. thanks for all the responses.
