Not really seeing the point of betting the river here. I think it's a good check it down spot. He's called the flop w/ no draws out there, could be slow playing or calling w/ a mid pair better than yours.I don't see worse hands paying you off here enough to put more money in, and I don't think you've repped enough strength to get 88 to lay down.

Yeah I'm almost certain he limped with a mid-pocket pair. The flop shows no draws at all and you can expect a hand like 77/88/99 to play this way. You only bet the river if you think he'll pay you off with 55 or less which is possible but after he goes all in I think we have to fold. I don't think a pocket pair lower than fives check raises all in very often.
