i dont understand why u can sign players to multi year contracts yet their salaries dont increase?

You guys need to raise their salary 10-20% each season (set amount) to make it a little more realistic.

Depending on the ranking of the player the salaries do increase...Please read the rules and then you can see how realistic...Follow this link

http://www.alternativehockeyleague.com/RULES.htm#SALARYTABLE

in Kyle Wellwood's case as you can see his salary does increase...I got really luck that Brian Gionta had an off year and i was able to sign him to $1 across the board...

Once you read the rules you will see that the salary structure is great and realistic....

You certainly do have a lot of spending money at this point, not going to argue with you there.

yes in recent years my team has been bogged down with bad contracts...The only bad contract I have now is Martin Skoula at $4.25....Once i post my final roster that I will be going into the season with you guys will see a very competitive team...

Its my 3 year plan...Next year I will have even more spending money with essentially the same lineup...

Serge, when you say you have "an unprecedented amount to spend at the draft" do you mean you have the second most amount to spend at the draft? Ravag has more to money to spend.

The mustangs are primed and ready to enter tomorrow's free agent draft with a lot of cash and short list of players to choose from...There is a few teams with a lot of cash , but most of them are expansion teams....The top three players available are Mats Sundin, Joe Sakic and Jaromir Jagr. Among the defenseman the big 3 are Lidstrom, Zubov and Scneider...My goal is to grab at least two of these players...If i somehow end up with 3, it would be amazing. We are entering the second year of the 3 year plan and this will be a huge test for myself in the free agent draft.

I will report live from the draft tomorrow as to the progress of the Mustangs future.

The free agent draft didnt go as I planned however I did really well, and improved my team...

The way the draft went there was ton of money available and only three big name forwards to spend it on...Sakic,Jagr and Sundin....Sakic went first and i let it go and then Jagr I was outbid on...So I had to make a stand when Sundin came up and I overpaid for him however I had no choice...

The great part of the draft was I upgraded my goalie situation by picking up New Jersey and Detroit...adding to Colorado...

I also took a flyer on Scott Niedermayer...If he does play, I will have a premier dman for only $6 while others in his range went for $12-$18..

All in all I am pretty happy with my team..I will be posting my team as soon as its released later today....

A lot of people on the forum are brainwashed by Daniel's posts...In reality I believe my team is just as good....

With a top 6 forward unit of Sundin,Kariya,Gionta,Afinogenov,Penner,Wellwood/Kobasew/Avery....i will challenge anyone on any given night...

There is no doubt that Daniel has a lot of young talent and he is deep on forward, however for THIS year I will give him a solid run for the division title

Serge came into the draft bragging about how much money he had to spend on free agents. He followed that up by paying an AHL record (I think, perhaps someone can confirm this) amount for the Hockey News 48th ranked played in the NHL....... How much was it Serge? 26 bucks??????? biggrin.gif:D:D

Its almost like a poker question....Because the result cant be judged, the process is whats important..

I paid $27 for Sundin...Jagr went for less...However I HAD to pay that much for Sundin or else I would have all that money to spend and nobody to spend it on...One of the owners ran into this exact problem...he WASTED $18 because he stopped bidding on Jagr and Sakic and Sundin...The salary is irrevelant, the situation warranted me spending that much...If I dont spend $27 on Sundin, I would of had to spend the money on Fedorov as he was the next best forward available...

Yes even though I believe Sundin will have a better than average season(point a game for him) Jagr or even Sakic would of been the better pick...However I am very happy with who I got based on the circumstances that I had to deal with...

Yes i know since you work for the Hockey News , the Hockey news is the gospel...However ranking Sundin 48th is ludicrous...Here is Sundin's pt totals in his career with the Leafs..

47(strike shortened),83,94,74,83,73,74,80,72,75,78,76

Those numbers are eerie ....His Career numbers 1231 games played 1243 pts...In his whole career with the Leafs he has never had proven scorers in the prime of their careers like he has this year...He did play with Alex Mogilny, when Mogilny was at the end of his career...Due to popular belief, Sundin has not missed any significant time due to injury....he missed 12 games in 05-06 when he BROKE his wrist...He came back two weeks before the doctor's prediction...You will be hard pressed to find a more consistent player than Mats Sundin...A first ballot hall of famer....

We know how you like to talk..but lets see how sure you are...Here are two prop bets that you should take based on your comments...

Sundin will get 80 pts..
Sundin will be in the top 20 of league scoring(pts) for the regular season...

As always with these bets I ask for a minimum 70 games played clause....
