This happens alot to me and I need some input.

Im dealt QQ in BB and blinds and 50/100 2 limpers..I pop it to 400 and get one call.
FLOP is 9h8h2s I bet 600 guy calls Turn 4h I check(probly wrong here but i dont know)guy checks..river As I bet 800 guy pushes all in...seems like I'm either letting guys catch..but thats a weird all in. I folded...but seems like that happens alot to me..big over pair and call on flop, then turn seems to fill them up and I get passive.

I think in that instance you can assume they hit the flush.. I've noticed that people who hit the flush usually check turn in hoping you hit a hand on the river..

Perhaps they hit 2 pair on the river... Ace 8 would kinda make sense..

But there's really nothing you can do here in this situation except fold.. you beat nothing

Raise more preflop. 50/100 with two limpers, I make it 5-600 to go.

Once I was in a hand... Then a flush came on board.... Then I didn't have any read on the other player cause I was watching Rounders on my computer for the 15th time.... So can someone tell me if I was beat or not.... Also I abandoned the hand on the turn but when another scary card that could fill his range came I bet out again...

Tournament right? OK, buy in amount? Tournament structure? How has the table/this player been playing? Is this a specific hand, or just a general idea of how you play with big pairs? If it's a general question like HOH questions (A question, followed by choices, followed by what you really did, then more choices), then we need the above questions answered before we can answer accurately.

Yes MTT..15 min levels..very tight weak table here. This was a specific hand but I do feel like I let people catch way to much and sometimes get passive on the turn.
Thanks for the help and help about how to post...I should just find the HH and post that.

You're giving up control of the hand much too easily. Just because there is 3 to a suit on board, does not mean that someone's holding two in their hand.
I'm also fed up with the common cold but I just hate to say goodbye.

What was the buy in level? Anyway, I don't think you played the hand all that horribly up until the river. With the Ace, I'd probably check then fold. With a blank, I may check and call.

I appericate all the advice. The same hand pretty much came up again tonight in another MTT and played it different took down a big pot and went on to a 5th place finish in a triple shootout. For a pretty good cash. I dont have crap for money on pstars since I always play at bodog. But I made a nice cash tonight. Thanks especially Chicago and drawing dead..your imput was a big help.

Why not check/call river, your not getting called by too many hands you beat and your opening yourself up to be re-raised and forced to fold. If you feel like you are'nt protecting your hands then Raise more preflop on the flop and bet the turn.

Assuming you have enough chips (otherwise you should be all in on the flop), you should (I think) be betting the turn with at least 2/3 if not 3/4 the pot. If you get raised, reevaluate. People are so aggressive online that it is negative ev to play passive with overpairs on the flop and turn. You get called by any top pair, some middle pairs. Long term, playing big PP weak is negative ev online. People put you on AK way too often.
