He's right. As long as you look old enough you're okay. There's a dog track about an hour from my house that has a separate poker room with about 30 tables and I've just walked right in and played. I'm only 18 btw. Both times I lost my $100 buy in by being stupid. I need a better plan. Just don't play tourneys.
I date fat chicks just to balance my range.

I mean.. I probably look 20. I guess if I wore sunglasses and a hat it would look a little better... so.. I guess ill try that...

in that case... where's the best place to find a good 3/6 game?

Maybe. Sometimes they make you look even younger. Depends how old you look normally. Most places will not ID you, just dont bust balls at the tables cause then someone might rat you out just to see if youre of age. Also do NOT tell anyone that youre not 21, even the "cool guy" sitting next to you that youve been chatting with between hands. C) Dont play any tourneys. God forbid you win.... D) The USPC is held at Taj.

Good luck.

1st off: Don't shave. It really helps with the "look older" thing.

2nd: 3/6 what? Borgata is primarily NLHE, with some LHE. You get Stud, O8, and mixed in the mid/higher stakes (I haven't been there since March, but they had a 10/20 S8/O8 mixed game [dunno if they still do], and games go up to 1k/2k. Forget if they're mixed @ that limit, but they probably are.)

Taj or Tropicana would probably be best for anything else, though I've never been there.

Yeah sunglasses and hat at a low limit cash table scream either "I'm a total douche" or "I am way under age" skip them.

As far as 3/6 LH there is no such thing as a bad 3/6 game. It's kind of like 1/2NL it is impossible to find a bad table that can't be beat.

Don't go to the Borgata they do ID. And don't order drinks at the Taj that might get you carded. Otherwise you should be ok.

What is the pink chip game? N/M

Pink chip game
From PokerWiki
(Redirected from Pink Chip Game)
Jump to: navigation, search

The Tropicana is the most regular home of the pink chip game. The pink chip game is a semi-legendary game held sporadically at the Tropicana poker room in Atlantic City, and occasionally at other sites. The game limit is generally $7.50/15.00 limit hold 'em and is played with $2.50 chips. These chips are commonly found on blackjack tables, not poker tables, and are colored pink. Much less commonly, $10/20 LHE can also be spread in a 4 chip/8 chip format.

The action in this game is what makes it remarkable. Apparently, people love splashing around with huge piles of pink chips.

Updates and sightings
As of 28 July 2006, pink chip action appears to be continuous over weekends and fairly strong during the week at the Tropicana.

The Pink Chip game is spread once a year during ATLARGE for a period of three days at Donald Trump's Taj Mahal, also in Atlantic City. Additionally Pink Chip games run regularly in Tunica, sometimes featuring a rock - one big bet held together by rubber bands. When the holder of the rock is under the gun, the rock is entered into play as a forced live straddle.
It's hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Don't let anyone tell you different. Think about what it's like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside.

between 2/4 and 5/10 is only 2/5.

NL games live are played by the gross majority based on common casino chip denominations.

NL is typically 2/5 or 5/5, then right to 5/10, then another double to 10/20 or 10/25 (depending on the casino, most don't have $10 and $20 chips but go from $5 to $25). Limit games go up more slowly as it's easier to have all even numbers (3-6, 4-8, 8-16, 10-20, etc)

Online games are typically much tougher than their live equivalents. If you are a consistent winner at 2/4 NL online, you will probably be solid in most 5/10 games.

This is limited by a concept sklansky discussess concerning the biggest game in the room. The 5/10 game at a place where 5/10 is the highest NL game running will be much tougher than the same game if a higher game game were being spread (because the players who would normally be at 10/25 are playing the biggest game available).

Basicaly:

1. go to the taj.
2. re-raise johnny chan.
3. ?????
4. profit!

You'll almost certainly be carded at Borgata. I've never seen anyone carded at Trop. You'll find 1/2 and 2/5 NL at Trop but not likely anything higher.

How is the 5/10 at the Borgata ?...I've watched twice now and it seemed pretty juicy but it was obviously only a limited view of the game...I know it will vary but I figured i'd ask your overall opinion of the game (I'm guessing you've played)...I might just have to sit down this Friday...
