what is considered a-rag?

I hear all these statements about how A-rag should not be played... I was just wondering, what is considered "rag" in this? Thanks.

Generally, anything 9 or below is considered a rag.

this is a weird little question that i dont think there is an answer for or dont know the answer for, but here i am typing a response anyways, i consider a-7 and below a-rag

My own cut off is A 10, and even that I will get away from quick if necessary (might play less than 10 kicker if it's suited and I have position).

I've had a suited KK in Omaha one time. An opponent hit an Ace high flush while i hit the double-King flush. We never did figure out who shoulda won that hand. :D

There is an answer, it's not really an opinion-based term.

a rag is a card that comes that is more than likely not of consequence

That's why you have to play at a table that lets you resplit aces.
