Ryan Kesler?Rumours are that he had an injured shoulder. With an injured shoulder and a sandy vagina it's no wonder he looked ineffective for the most part.
I agree. Plus, good to have more than one of those guys. Kesler is more of a 2-way guy than a power forward, no? To be honest, we're really stretching - with Kesler, Burrows, Samuelsson and Booth they 'should've had enough secondary scoring. But when you've got strong defence, a good goalie, a fantastic first line and a decent 4th line...well there's not much left to pick at. They need to have a good player to play with the Sedins and 5-6 strong forwards for their 2nd-3rd lines. They have lots of pieces, but might be a forward or two short to really be able to be dangerous with their second units, especially since you know the opponent has to put out their best defensive players against the first line.
Long signatures are really annoying.

Its looking very good..Brian Burke had a lot to do with the current success of the Marlies. But AHL success doesnt always translate to NHL success..Unfortunately Kadri might be a great example of this..Hopefully not though.

AHL success can also backfire -- a big chunk of later's winners (Binghampton) players changed teams after the win...

Every team in the league would love to get Schultz. He can only make the entry level maximum so the financial commitment isn't any greater than any other prospect.I would think he would be a top 10 pick if he was available in this year's draft.

Kessel to Flyers for Bryzgalov<snicker>

Im not a fan of trading Schenn to acquire a prospect. If the Leafs trade Schenn it will be for a proven NHL player, most likely part of a package IMO.Very exciting times for Leaf fans. Marlies are in the Calder cup Final. Will it be a championship for MLSE finally?

Listening to Nonis and Burke talk they are pretty candid about what they are looking to do. They will be heavily involved in the trade market as opposed to the Free Agent route.Free agents will probably signed to fill holes but the Leafs arent looking to sign any high end UFAs

Forward scoring help does not = a prospect necessarily. 1. Trade Schenn for JVR2. Sign Schultz3. Pursue Luongo and then when Luongo ends up with someone else have Burke proclaim that "the asking price was not something we were willing to part with and NO I won't name any names."4. Sign a goalie like Vokoun and have Reimer and Scrivens battle for the backup.

With Scrivens playing the way he's been playing, maybe it's best to have both him and Reimer up and they can fight it out to see who the back up is. I honestly don't think goaltending is the biggest concern.

Reimer looked good in the AHL too. Scrivens has a good AHL team in front of him right now. You would rather the better of Reimer/Scrivens serve as your starter and the worst of Reimer/Scrivens serve as your backup rather than have the better of Reimer/Scrivens serve as backup to a guy like Vokoun? What happens if the better of Reimer/Scrivens gets injured? You're willing to gamble the season on questionable goaltending.*Vokoun is only an example.

I agree with Dale..Do not want to go into the season with only Reimer and Scrivens..Luongo would be ideal but I can live with a Vokoun type..Is Tim Thomas a possibility?

Since we have a Conservative government he might agree to play here.
