I fold because you are much more likely to be able to find a better spot, any raise commits you. It's not like you have a horrible stack if you give up on the hand.Preflop is good IMO.

Two overcards spell certain death to Tens here.Give up. You are never getting a better hand to lay down here, and a worse hand is not likely to pay you off without a solid draw to beat you anyways.Abandon ship.

Imo the preflop raise is a bit too large. I would go for 150-200 here. This early in the sng, I would even consider limping. I belive in preserving your stack as much as possible this early. If you hit a set or only undercards on the flop, then great, put some more money in there.

I also think the raise preflop is a little too large. I would like to keep the pot a little smaller here. Give up on the flop

I would make it $250 preflop.The flop is an easy fold, although I'm always tempted to raise it to (say) $660. His bet does look very weak and he could definitely have a hand like AJ.The problem is, it's a high variance play. In STTs you really want to keep variance at a minimum because you want to get to the later stages as often as possible. Building a huge stack early isn't as valuable as the cEV suggests.
