CobaltBlue 662
Was out of town for the first week, so I didn't pay much attention to the games aside from seeing Michigan lost and Auburn pulled out a close one.Tonight, I wanted a little action, so on a lark I threw some money on the Over 64 for the Louisville-MTSU game. I've been rewarded with a 28-14 score only ten minutes into the game.

CobaltBlue 662
100 points in that game, such and easy cover for you.Yeah...made it with 4 minutes left in the half. Kind of funny to win a bet that far before a game's over.Considering going to the Auburn game tonight.I'm such a stupid sportsbettor when it comes to college football. I mean, with baseball, I can pretend I know what I'm doing. With this, I do a glance-over and impulse. Fortunately, I realize this, and I'm a nit, so I keep my bets under $15.Here's who I got today:Football - College Lines (Game) Total(313) Nebraska vs. (314) Wake Forest Over 50 Sat@12:00pFootball - College Lines (Game) Pointspread(326) Vanderbilt +4 Sat@12:30pCompetitor: (325) AlabamaFootball - College Lines (Game) Total(353) South Carolina vs. (354) Georgia Over 45 Sat@5:45pFootball - College Lines (Game) Pointspread(354) Georgia -4 (-105) Sat@5:45pCompetitor: (353) South CarolinaFootball - College Lines (Game) Pointspread(382) Auburn -7 (-105) Sat@9:00pCompetitor: (381) South FloridaFootball - College Lines (Game) Total(383) Virginia Tech vs. (384) LSU Over 38 Sat@9:15pFootball - College Lines (Game) Total(381) South Florida vs. (382) Auburn Under 39 Sat@9:00p
CobaltBlue 662
...argh. Bye-bye, season. Auburn deserved to lose that game. Unless they use it to inspire them the rest of the way, they're going to get stomped during the SEC schedule. And to be honest, it's pretty worthless when that happens. What good was beating Florida last year on the heels of losing to Arkansas?I went a nice 1-6 on my picks to boot.

CobaltBlue 662
Thats the loyal Auburn fanbase everyone admires so much.Who said I'm going to stop being a fan? It's my loyalty to Auburn that causes so much pain to watch this debacle. And to be honest, this is one of the primary reasons that I think football is kind of stupid game. Everyone gets pumped up for one hour-long game per week over (ideally) 13 weeks. And, they're not even an hour of play...so much of that is clock-killing. So we put all of this emphasis on a tiny number of trials...and a single turnover...a matter of yards...can potentially change a whole game or season. With one slip up...one or two losses...oh well...season's shot.Baseball...you get plenty of time/game/trials to narrow down the best teams. Requiring "perfection" over a dozen games exalts luck.If we want to make a poker analogy...football seasons are the equivalent of having one big MTT. Yes, there's plenty of dead money (terrible teams), and skill is going to play a major part in winning...but it's too much hub-bub for the entertainment that it provides. We get all ramped up for this one annual tournament...and it's so easily flushed. In a game like baseball, you're looking at POY races...those that have demonstrated excellence over the long haul. I cant believe they put in cox on that last drive. I know why they did it and he got them down there. But, those last 4 downs were just sooo bad. What a year its gonna be. But, if we beat ALA for 5 in a row Im might be happy.

We're going for 6...but that doesn't look likely. If we keep turning over the ball like this (12 in 3 games...against low tier teams), we're going to be lucky to win 3 games. CobaltBlue 662
You did. After this mess, I said that I'm not going to actively follow college football this season. Will I hear plenty about it and be exposed to it regardless? Probably. Do I hope we get our shit together? Yeah. Will I follow next season? Definitely. Heck, I'm still probably going to end up going to a game this season. I just don't see the point in getting involved with it emotionally when the only emotions are likely going to be bad.
