fleung22 1
Okay, I'm a total Trekky geek and I'm putting it out there. Mostly ST and STNG though. I enjoyed Voyager but I'm still making it through the episodes via reruns. DS9 does nothing for me and I think I missed every episode of Enterprise with the exception of a hot Vulcan shower scene.Where my Trekkies at?! I know you dorks are out there!! fleung22 1
I just noticed something that seems inconsistent in terms of Borg designations. In STNG there's an episode where the heroes capture a Borg and name it Hugh. Prior to giving the drone a name his Borg designation was "3rd of 5"However, in Voyager our big boobied Borg is known as "7 of 9" vs. "7th of 9"I know, I know...could I be anymore of a geek? El Guapo 10
New star trek movie in about 2 years. Leonard Nimoy is going to play old spock and the guy who plays the bad guy on Heros is going to be new spock. Thats all I got.EDIT: Star Trek the Next Generation FTW. BigDMcGee 3,367
Obviously more Borgs were created between the time when STNG and Voyager were set.I was just telling someone the other day about how I'd love to have my way with 7 of 9.7 of 9 was celebrity alumni homecoming whatever for my sophmore year, I think... I wasn't really familar with her, till then.. she is outrageously hot. She was married to Jack Ryan, a powerful illinios businessman, and political candidate.. it was her.. prudishness that eventually torpedo'd Jack's Senate run, and paved away for our future president, Barrack Obama.. from wikipedia..On June 22, 2004, the California judge (Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Schnider) in the case agreed to release the custody files; the decision generated much controversy because it went against both parents' direct request and because it generally reversed the early decision to seal the papers in the best interest of the child. It was revealed that, six years previously, Jeri had accused Jack Ryan of asking her to perform sexual acts with him in public, and in adult clubs in New York, New Orleans, and Paris. Jeri Ryan described one as "a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling." Jack Ryan denied these allegations. Although Jeri Ryan refused to comment on the matter during the campaign, the document disclosure led Jack Ryan to withdraw his Republican candidacy for an open United States Senate seat in Illinois which was eventually won by Barack Obama. In other news, Star Trek blows. Their of designations aren't inconsistent at all. It's a simple way for the Borg hive mind to assign their various drones to whatever task they need to do. The amount of Borg assigned to a particular task determined their designation. For instance with Hugh, he was the 3rd Borg Drone assigned to whatever task it was that he and four of his other buddies were up to. In the case of 7 of 9, she was the seventh Borg assigned to help intergrate Voyager and Borg technology by the terms of the truce negotiated by Captian Janeway. But uhh...I'm just guessing...I don't actually own all seasons of all the series or anything like that...........no no....nothing like that at all.PS: I hated DS9....gimme TNG anyday
Jadaki 1
PS: I hated DS9....gimme TNG anydayThe reason DS9 was actually far superior to any of the other series is simple, the plot carried over week to week. You can sit down now, watch and TNG episode and it stands alone just fine because nothing ever carried over expect in the 2 part episodes.DS9 once the Dominion became involved was a week to week ongoing war, things carried over and had importance in later episodes. The first season or two were more like TNG where episodes were stand alone, but once it became more of a serialized drama it blew the doors of every other Star Trek show done. I understand the number designation. I'm talking about the way it's declared. 3 of 5 was referred to as "3rd of 5" and the collective would logically state each drone that way. Therefore, 7 of 9 should've been called "7th of 9" but she wasn't....she was "7 of 9"It seems small but if you recall one way of determining the difference between Data and his brother, Lore, (previous to the emotion chip insertion) was the ability to say "it's" vs. "it is"...and agreed, I loved Star Trek and TNG but DS9 bored me to death and I still can't stand it. I love the exploration and meeting new civilizations and watching the super crew on the flag ship. Picard may be the very definition of a leader and I still love the way he runs a ship. I think the things that Jadaki likes about DS9 (re: soap opera in space) is exactly what bothered me and I just didn't find the characters very likable.I enjoyed Voyager but one thing that always bothered me was how Harry Kim sat at all the Senior Staff meetings. Isn't the guy an Ensign? For all the work he put in shouldn't he at least have been bumped up to junior Lieutenant or something?

The show was very much character driver despite having great story lines. I love how pretty much the entire main cast took turns taking over or evading the Enterprise. Such a great group of well rounded characters with unique strengths and weaknesses.

I've been watching it a lot lately, and Data is such an incredible character. A lot of the episodes have poker intros too which is awesome. Data got bluffed pretty hardcore by Riker because he didn't understand the concept of bluffing, but he obviously picked up on it pretty quickly. I'm totally gonna find a Data quote for my sig. I'm such a geek. Also, Deanna Troy episodes = snoozefests Data: A resumption of our present course at warp six will place us in the T'lli Beta system in six days, thirteen hours forty-seven minutes. William Riker: What, no seconds? Data: I have discovered, sir, a certain level of impatience when I calculate a lengthy time interval to the nearest second. However, if you wish... William Riker: No, no. Minutes is fine. Data: May I ask a personal favor? Worf: Yes? Data: Will you take care of Spot for me? Worf: Your animal? Data: I am concerned that if I have another waking dream, I may injure him. Worf: Of course. Spot, come here. Data: Unlike a canine, Spot will not respond to verbal commands. [Data picks up Spot and hands him to Worf, who is not quite sure how to handle the cat.] Data: Goodbye, Spot. He will need to be fed once a day. He prefers feline supplement one-twenty-five. Worf: I understand. Data: And he will require water. And you must also provide him with a sand box. And you must talk to him. Tell him he is a pretty cat, and a good cat, and— Worf: I will feed him. Data: Perhaps that will be enough.

There's got to be dozens of eps with poker somewhere and lots of those eps are excellent.I don't know how well Data understood bluffing later but I do remember him clearing a game when he went into an alternate dimension and needed money. Also, Deanna was a teen nerd-crush for me and then when Dr. Crusher came on board and started to look hot I couldn't decide.

And some of the coolest war scenes ever. You don't get to see hundreds of ships in battle super often in star trek - but DS9 had some sick battles.I actually enjoy pretty much all of the star trek series (except I never really got into the originals, sorry, just before my time).I'm watching Enterprise right now on HDNet - that is one hot friggin vulcan. Hotter than Jeri Ryan/7 of 9.Spike TV also currently shows TNG episodes followed by voyager every weekday afternoon. They previously went through all 9 seasons of DS9 a couple episodes a day.If I had to rank the series - for me it's TNG > DS9 > Enterprise > Voyager (however i've seen every TNG episode enough times that it doesn't interest me as much anymore compared to the others). BigDMcGee 3,367
i can answer the 3rd of 5 thing for you, actually...It follows an obscure grammatical rule that when you do something out of something, you use 1st of 10, 2nd of 10, 3rd of 10.. but after that you do 4 of 10, 5 of 10, 6 of 10. I have no idea why I know that, but it's true.
