Shoulda switched that title around a bit, man. A little content, not much comedic valueThat's more accurate.
Stanley: Collard.
Michael Scott: What?
Stanley: They're called "collard" greens.
Michael Scott: No, no. That's offensive. They're not called "collard" people.

Not so much funny as it was dirty. Tough beats but that wasn't a laughing matter.

Back in about 73, I was playin' in a No Limit game down at the Stardust. IT was a short-handed game, 4 handed. 20 on the button, 20 on the small blind, 40 in the big, and of course, the live straddle was always on. This was a pretty darn big game for those days, let me tell you boy. The line up was Me, Major Riddle (what we liked to call a Whale, pretty much the catalyst of the games in those days). Billy Baxter, and Chip Resse. Well, we weren't colluding exactly against the Major, but we weren't really plain' too hard against eachother either, if you know what I mean. We all knew who the fish was, where the money was comin' from... no reason we needed to cut each other's throats with the Major in the game. Well, I have 10-10 on the button, and I raise it up to 300, a pretty standard raise. Only Billy Baxter calls in the big blind. This kinda set bells off, ya know, because I know he's got some sort of hand, he wasn't just messin' around with me. So the flop comes 10-8-5 rainbow.. the perfect board. Billy checks to me, and I bet out, about 1000. Now, this might seem like a pretty big bet, given I had the nuts and all. But I knew Billy had some sort of real hand, and if I'd have checked it woulda looked real fishy, so I bet, and tried to make it look like a bluff, and hoped he had somethin' like KK that he slow played. Well, Billy sat there for a bit, then made a raise, to 3000. Well shit, I thought.. perfect. So I pretended to think abit, and then I just called. On the turn the five pairs, so the board is 10-8-5-5, the perfect board, or so I thought. So Billy bets out 5000, and and I move in, real quick like, for about another 20k, or so. Again, another overbet, but ole Jack never made small bets, on bluffs or real hands, that's what made me such a dangerous NL player. Welll, Ole Billy calls me so damn fast. Because he's got the stone cold nuts, pocket fives. My heart sank. At this point, Puggy starts brayin' and laughin', and said "Oh, you're cooked, Jack.. I mucked a ten.. but as he says that, the dealer fouls the deck, and starts pushing the pot to billy. Well I say, what in the hell's going on, the river hasn't come yet.. well the deck is all mixed up with the discards, and they call the floorman over. He says scramble the deck, with the discards, and reshuffle, burn and turn. So the dealer does it, and wouldn't you know it, the river was that 10 that Puggy had mucked! Old Billy baxter about had a stroke... So, when people tell their bad beat stories, I just kinda sit and laugh, 'cause I know I'd seen the mother of them all. Posted Image

Damn I thought you copied and pasted those stories but you were writing a post for about 5 minutes, therefore I can only conclude you typed the entire thing out.

You were on a roll for awhile, but then I noticed you befriended Erik Ryland and actually called him "Rat" in one thread. That negated all your progress thus far.

I'm really not that bitter. I just have a strong dislike for the following things:1) Erik Ryland 2) Gmanshade3) FWP4) Pocket Fives 5) People who argue they are right after being proven wrong 6) People bashing the GPFAnyway, come out for the golf thing next week and I'll buy you a beer and we'll laugh about all this. Well, at least you will, since I'm so god damn bitter.

Well, I live in nebraska, and I don't golf, but thanks for the offer... have I ever mentioned that your hate has always saddened me, because I've been a life long cubs fan? It hurts to fight with cubs fans the most. GPF? I've been up for about 30 hours, so I'm getting a little loopy, it probably means something obvious, but i can't for the life of me figure out what.

I'm a northwestern alum, and I will often reference it, and Chicago in general, so that's probably where you got that idea.
