The trick is to start with the hand you write with, or your dominant hand. Start making the circle with that hand. Keep doing this until you can do it without thinking about doing it. Then, just do the opposite with the other hand.Or, just make huge circles (a couple of feet across), and go slow. It's possible.

that's the best part of teh trick, is that some people, for what ever reason, no matter what I do or how many times I show them, get owned by the trick, and drive them self nuts trying to do it.. it's hilarious.

here's my best advice... place your fingers together up high.. then visualize a diamond, with your fingers at the apex, one corner of the diamond below where your fingers start, at your belly, the other about a foot infront of your belly, on the same plane, and then the bottom of the diamond is a foot below where your fingers start. Then, make your right hand go to the far corner while your left hand goes to the near corner, and hold there for a sec.. then make them go to the bottom corner. then make your right hand goto the near corner, your left to the far, holding a sec, then to the top. Do that for a bit, then slowly round things off, andy our'e doing it.

The reason it is difficult is that forward and backward are relative. To make it easy, just concentrate on having them meet at the top and the bottom going in opposite directions. Then the only trick is to keep them more-or-less circular.

Easy peasy.You should see me work it with the Vulcan Live Long and Prosper sign...Some people can't even do it with one hand. Not only can i do it with both hands, I can manipulate the fingers from the V to a W with both hhands at the same time. As a topper, I do them opposite of each other at speed.
