PokerStars 0.05/0.10 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q icon_suit_spade.gif , A icon_suit_diamond.gif .
Hero raises, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 6 folds.

Flop: (5.40 SB) 9 icon_suit_heart.gif , K icon_suit_heart.gif , Q icon_suit_diamond.gif (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

Turn: (3.70 BB) 7 icon_suit_spade.gif (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

River: (5.70 BB) 9 icon_suit_club.gif (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 folds.

Final Pot: 5.70 BB

it was better to check the river wasn't it? with plans to call a bet.

Meh, I'd go with a read.

It's really only better to check the river if he'll bet with a worse hand, ie missed fd.

The only thing with this particular hand, is you only beat pocket pairs, missed fd, and worse Qs.

Since the board paired the 3rd card, I think I prefer a river c/c.

This doesn't really seem like a king, and with a hand as strong as ours here (and our hand is pretty strong given the action) I'll bet and fold to a raise. He has to be suicidal to raise with anything less than a 9, and we would've heard from a K earlier. If this is obviously a draw based on playing style, then it's obviously a check. But his calling range here is probably bigger than we think. If he's calling down with a Q, K or some other pair/a-hi, our expectation is better if we bet (assuming he bets his kings here if we check to him, which is a very reasonable assumption).

We can safely fold to a raise, so I like to bet.

I bet unless he's shown signs of odd/tricky

normal player, bet/fold
