What do you think of not re-raising someone preflop with pocket Kings. Do you think it's an effective way, in this situation, to maximize profits by not showing too much strength.Ultimate Bet 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) converterPreflop: Bad Mother Fucker is MP3 with K:heart:, K:club:. UTG raises, SB calls, BB calls.Flop: (8 SB) 3:club:, 8:diamond:, 8:club: (4 players)SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls.Turn: (6 BB) 9:spade: (2 players)UTG bets, UTG calls.River: (10 BB) 6:club: (2 players)UTG checks, Bad Mother Fucker bets, UTG calls.Final Pot: 12 BB

against aggressive players, maybe.but you fail to isolate and your winning chances go down (though your equity is still strong).aseem

It will make you more money sometimes.. when you don't let the Q8o in from the bb, or the 7To, or the 2 baby clubs (referring to the example you posted, where a lot of bb limping hands could easily have outdrawn you).I'd rather have 2 other people in the pot paying 3 bets preflop each than 3 other people paying 2 bets each. Unless I think betting will get capped without my raise, I will always raise with kings. Also, one of the more dangerous hands for you is the A-rag. You want this guy to fold and while you probably can't get most .25/.50 players to fold A-rag, you might as well make them pay more to see if they can hit the ace.I've been playing .25/.50 limit as well, and I see absolutely no reason to get fancy and try to disguise your hand at this level. You'll lose a lot more from lost pot equity by not raising preflop than you will gain from your opponent underestimating your hand later.

I hate it. you need to do your best to shut out dummies and get this hand as horthanded as possible. the immeadite money you lose will be gained back in the long run. don't ever do this again, your just asking to get beaten by an inferior hand, and then we'd have to hear whining about your Kings getting cracked

k, lets stop promoting them on our site, wrto :PYeah, raise KK. You're not raising to put the most money in the pot, holmes- you're raising ot prevent those odd hands from catching a piece the might wanna chase and eventually catch.Someone else said what if the BB had 89s? Might call one raise, but not two. Then what would you have done, eh?You're raising to push out, not make more money in this situation. Plus you want info. He obviously had a pocket pair, so your preflop raise would've gotten him to probably 3 bet, to which you would've capped. if SB/BB called, they would've paid dearly.

I'm not promoting anyone, Norm. I just got through reading the 2+2 post when I read this one and thought it was funny. 8)
