effective stacks Hero 430, villain 300

Reads-villain bet and pushed turn on a Ahigh flop, with KK, only to get called by AQ. Has since rebought.

Preflop, 6way pot, Hero on BTN with 88.

Flop 8,10,7 rainbow

checks to Hero, hero bets 10, villain is only caller.

Turn A, puts a flushdraw

Hero bets 25, villain raises to 50, Hero calls.

River 9

Villain bets 105, Hero....

Raise the turn. He's got a ton of 2 pair combos that should pay you off and there's only scare cards that can come on the river for you and the villian. Call is standard at the river. If some one says he only has $50 left, then i'll say you can push.

Oops.

We have to Raise, perhaps Push that Turn.

Also, I'd have tossed in a Preflop Button Raise with 88.

As played - either Fold or Call the River. Personally, I think this is a Fold. That 9 seems more like a hit than a miss.

We could feasibly put villain on aces up here, seeing as he check/called the flop and only limped preflop. Does villain raise AJ preflop?

I'd say he is more likely to have AJ than Aces up right now. I'd expect a preflop limp with AJ

Aces up, aka two pair? Did you misread?

OP, is villain someone who will call off a pot-sized bet with nothing but a gutshot? I know AJ is a limping hand PF in EP/MP, but so are medium aces..

I don't disagree. But AJ isn't just a gut shot, it is top pair with a kicker that is over the board with a gutshot there may even be a flush draw. Thing is as played it seems like he hit his hand on the River, not a missed draw.

Talking about the flop.. Hero bets out 10 into a 12 dollar pot, and villain calls with a gutshot?

Perhaps. About as likely as TPTK (I am assuming you're not suggesting something like BPTK or MPTK) given the later action.

Never ever just flat the turn. There are so many stupid cards for you that could hit the river. Just raise. If he has a straight, you're going fishing for a boat anyway.

What I'm saying is that it's feasible that villain takes this line:

1) Limp with a medium ace
2) Catch a pair on the flop, but check since its likely not the best hand
3) Call hero's position bet
4) Catch aces up on the turn, wake up

Yes. I understand and don't completely disagree. I just think AJ is at least as likely.

OP - results?

Well looking back on the hand, I felt like calling the turn was ok as he's very likely to bet the river when behind, and then I can stack him him. Even though I wouldn't mind getting it all in either on the turn. But the weird thing was the min-raise. He either has turned 2 pair, has a flopped str8, or a set. All are likely, as he's not known as the tightest player. He could even have AJ sometimes, or something to that effect.

The river was where it got confusing. There's a 4 card straight on board. He also seemed very confident when he bet. I was just so confused at that point, trying to figure out whether that 9 effected the hand at all. In the end it didn't. He showed J9.

Raise the turn.

I probably have to call the river becuase of how I've played the hand.
