Villian is LAG raising about 30% when checked to pre flop and always betting when checked to on the flop.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Button (t9050)
Hero (t18961)
BB (t9206)
UTG (t18610)
MP1 (t28737)
MP2 (t29202)
CO (t29748)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 5, 5.
3 folds, CO raises to t1800, 1 fold, Hero calls t1500, 1 fold.

Flop: (t3600) 4, 4, 9 (2 players)

Hero checks, CO bets t4200, Hero ?

any decent raise commits you, and youre way ahead of his range

if youre not pushing a flop like this i dont think you shouldve called in the first place

I think because this guy has such a history of being so aggressive, you should have either re-raised him from the get-go, since he prob. was just betting to steal the blinds (given his history). Sure it would be great to trap him by catching the set, but you're calling SO much of your stack to do so, that its either fold or re-raise. An ideal situation would be if you could have just limped in to catch the set on him. (Although if he allowed you to limp in, you'd have to be suspicious of his hand, he might've been trying to slow play a big hand)

Anyway, so when he bet the flop, he probably just had overs, so you might've re-raised him all in...

Personally, I don't mind calling pf for set value - in this case, either lead out (Stop and Go) or check/fold.

What is your image? If it was pretty TAG, I'd re-raise pf.

If it's who I think it is, I was at his table for about an hour. And you are likely ahead at this point. He was very aggressive and I had seen him push post flop a couple times with just overs. (He riverstars a K the one time he was called down.)

That said, you can fold here and still have plenty of chips to make the money. Mid pockets are definately within his range.

The question is if I push here, does he have a better hand than me more than 1/3rd of the time? I think not, but I may be biased since he had been stealing so much (especially from me since I am such a nit).

i was looking more at our M, which is about 21, and our stack size, which is one of the middling ones at the table.
also the fact that set mining looks really weak and invites him to keep stealing our blinds - we didnt stand up to him we let him take more chips

the raise is for about 10% of our stack, but it sounds like we could double up if we hit

I think he's probably ahead about half the time, but you've got some FE so he might fold 6's and 7's to a push. OBV without the LAG read we'd fold here as the straight bet pattern looks like J's or T's.

The fact that your image is tight, that he's been stealing from you, and the BB is a bubble stack, really opens his range up. The downside is that adds a 9 to his possible holdings. I'm a nit too, so I'd probably fold and then take out my anger from the button on the next hand.
