In my short experience, when you've got a huge field and are certain that one person directly or maybe two spots to your left is going to bet. Generally in the lower limits, you can wait until the turn to check-raise and get 3-4 extra BBs into the pot. From what I've seen, people don't want to let go of any kind of draw, and they get slightly annoyed and call anyway when they already have a big bet in the pot. This is really nice when you have the nuts.I don't do it that often unless the situation is uniquely perfect; fastplay is almost always right, I think.More experienced players: verify what I've said?

Wouldn't call myself more experienced--but IMO, the time to slow play in O/8 is when you have an easily identified nut hand in early position. A-high flush you may want to consider slow playing, since the action tends to slow down when the third card hits. I would also onlu suggest slow playing if your table almost never goes through a round w/o a bet. All to often when I have tried a slowplay it ends up just being a free card because six people behind me check...

Don't slowplay the nut flush, you'll often get called by weaker flushes, and slowplaying is death in omaha. If the board pairs, you just gave a free card that probably hurt you. If a low card comes, you are probably going to be sharing the pot. I VERY rarely check-raise, and only do it when I know that my opponent will bet (some opponents always make a continuation bet on the flop after raising preflop). Other than that, you are just asking for trouble.
