Kyle Wellwood who turned 24 years old on May 16 of this year is about to enter the biggest season of his life. He will be an unrestricted free agent next year and he will be looking to put up some huge numbers.

Maple Leaf management and Paul Maurice have indicated they would like to increase Wellwood's ice time to 18 minutes a game and make sure he is an integral part of the Leafs offence.

I am going to go and make a prediction on the numbers that Kyle will put up if he stays healthy.

A full season will enable Wellwood to put up 25 goals 50 assists for 75 pts...

We will follow his progress throughout the season..

So good luck to the pride of Windsor Ontario as he becomes one of the elite players in the NHL.
Leafs 2011-2012 North Eastern Division Champions.

He was here for a golf tournament. I think he is a great playmaker with nice hands but he looks to be about 160 Lbs soaking wet and like he would rather fix your computer than shoot a puck.

yeah those 2 are very comparable. If Wellwood played for any other team you would give him the term "average" player for sure.

And for the record I was not cutting up Wellwood in my original e-mail. It was just an observation I made.

this might be one of the more dumber things I have ever read here. while you can define overrated in many differents ways, I think you actually mean an assisst shouldnt really be considered talent, just a fluke.
I actually like Higgins more than Wellwood, but to suggest he is better than Kyle because assists are overrated shows a complete ignorance.

Since someone else brought up his name, somebody tell Wayne quickly that HE is overrated since he got too many of those "lucky" assists playing with Jari Kurri's much more skilled goal scoring ability.

nah thats not exactly what I was implying, I just hate that each goal gets 2 assists, so you know, they are worth less. Sure a good pass can be more valuable than a goal but the D man who touched it behind the net will get a point even if hes not on the ice.

Also I think that if you touch it and 2 other people do like a bunch of give and goes and one scores, 2 people still get an assist, which would be stupid if it's the case. How many people padded their stats by passing the puck to Gretzky who in turn made a brilliant pass for a goal. That guys' point IS over rated.

last 2 years:Games G A P
Wellwood:81 11 34 45
_________48 12 30 42

Higgins: 80 23 15 38
_______61 22 16 38

and Higgins palyed 17 games with a fractured clavicle last year

oh and if you are going to make a comment about me being dumb try to phrase it so you don't sound like a retard
