UTG is a solid player who wouldn't call a flop c-bet without trips, a pair of queens, or an overpair. He would most likely fold everything else. The question is, do we fire a c-bet since we 3-bet pf? Or since one player is already all-in, do we check the flop? A flop pot of -$1.59? I don't know what's going on... lol let me try to fix this real quick
I like the flop check. You don't want to win a pot of -$1.59

i think the flop bet is good...if you knock out the third player you will have a better chance to win the pot against the all-in player

+1This is totally different from the tournament strategy of "never bluffing a dry side-pot". You're not trying to make sure that the allin player loses the pot, you're simply trying to give yourself the best chance of winning the pot: it's much easier to win a showdown against one opponent than it is against two.

do we have a read on SB? seems like the most important factor here. if he doesn't push without a decent hand, we're risking a lot to win a little. if you're ahead of one of them, it's probably because they have some of your outs making you even more of a dog to the other one. on this board, i think it's pretty rare that you're ahead of or will catch up to SB while also folding out an UTG who coldcalled pf. that's assuming of course that SB pushed with something decent, which is by no means guaranteed.

I don't think a bet is necessary. If you check and then he bluffs at you and with too much for you to call, oh well. If he has a piece, he'll at least call, if not raise, and then you've lost, at minimum, your flop bet (Assuming you don't suck out).

SB seemed pretty fishy, so I'd say his range is pretty wide here. I shouldn't be hijacking my own thread, but for the week, my Sklansky bucks are at $1050, my showdown winnings are at $700, and my actual winnings are a little above $200. How sick is that?

water showdown winnings?i know sklansky dollars work something like: if you get your money into a $1000 pot as a 70% favorite to win the hand, no matter what the outcome you've earned $700 sklansky dollars... vs if you get your money in as a 30% dog you loose $300 sklanksky dollars (????????) gotta link for more info anyone?*EDIT*i like the cbet on the flop... as merby said, this isn't a tourney & it's not important to felt the all in player... you should be more interested in increasing yoru own chances to win the pot than trynig to maximize the likely hood that the alll in player will be eliminated... also, i like how you shut down after being called... i play this hand exacly the same, and am pretty sure at least one of them had a Q or another A... maybe even like 10 10... *EDIT*
