Played golf today, and let's just say it didn't go well...Trebled 1stDoubled 2nd Doubled 3rdSo I wasn't too pleased heading onto the 145 yard par 3 4thTake out my 8 iron to try and hit a little punchy shot to the middle of the green,I end up chunking it about about 45 yds.then set up to play a flick of a sw,take a monster divot and dunk the ball in the greenside bunkerthe pin is cut about 8 yds on and the bunker face is deep,I got over ambitious and tried to explode the ball out and ended up thinning it into the bunker face, then playing my 4th I air-mailed the green by about 60 yds.and that's when I lost it,I flung my new lob wedge back towards my bag which was near the next tee, and unfortunately was also near a large tree,Needless to say my club got stuck about 30 ft up the tree, and after attempting to climb the tree and shake it loose,I soon gave up and shook hands with my bemused playing partners, and retired to the bar after just 4 holes.I think im gonna take a break from golf for 2-3 months. I seem to be getting worse and worse and have got 4 shots back in the last 6 months.Anyone else have any similar golfing stories, or any advice on how not to tilt on the golf course and throw away your new €199 lob wedge?

i played tiger woods '06 today, eagled 7 holes plus 2 holes in one.as far as real golf, it is relaxing. a beer, clunking a ball around with friends. if this enrages you, you're not doing it right anyways & you might as well toss the rest of your clubs up that tree.

About 18 months ago, I bought a Titleist Vokey wedge for £100. 2 weeks later I accidentally left it on the edge of a green in Scotland. Didn't notice it was gone until my next round 3 days later.

I'd recommend asking whoever raped you for that much money for a wedge to climb the tree and get it down. For that price, you shouldn't even have to swing it.
