Villain has shown that he likes to make big calls and is playing a lot of hands. He has limped with junk and played passive in those hands, but when he open-raises he is pretty active. The last big bet he made was when he open-raised from mid position, was led into on a flop of QJ9, and then he went all-in. When he open-raises pots, he has shown to be pretty active in general.

I smell 44. Ace could have easily hit him if he is a stubborn AK or AQ kind of guy.

But run away, no sense in getting too broke here. 2K is still plenty to work with in this tournament.

Either raise or fold preflop. If you are going to play KJo OOP (may or may not be a good idea here), you have to take the initiative in the betting here.

As played, I would have made another 1/3 to 1/2 pot blocking bet on the river, and then folded to a big raise (the ace is a card that very plausibly could have hit him). Checking to an aggressive player like that absolutely screamed "I DON'T HAVE AN ACE" meaning that the risk of inducing a big bluff is very high, leaving you with an agonizing decision. So, I'd try to bet smaller to see if he'll either fold or just call. If he still shoves, you have an easier decision to fold I think. As played, I've no idea what I would do here. His play really looks like a middle pair that's scared of the jack, so I might very well call, but I'd really have to think hard about it.

if he's as active when he raised pf, i like c/r as opposed to leading...you can take control of the hand easier that way, by leading we risk getting raised and being forced to make a pretty annoying decision(obv it didn't work out like that though)

i bet more on the turn and try to lose him right there

i have no idea what to do on the river, it's just a feel decision to me...if you don't think the ace hit him then call, otherwise you should fold and wait for a better spot

I agree with the bolded part.. Our hand appears to be pretty strong on this board so I would take the option of the c/r..Also I usually dont' call raises with trap hands like this, especially OOP

As played, I think you have to make a blocker bet on the river of about 600..If you get raised there, then muck..But by checking, you really leave yourself open to a very difficult decision on the end
