BIG-T7 0
I know i'm probably going to get drilled for this topic, BUT i'm still going to ask it. I play mostly 5-5 No-Limit. Min buy in is $100 max is $500. My bankroll is about $5000I buy in for the maximum when ever i play. But then 80% of the players that sit only buy in for the Min. How do you determin how much to buy in for??
simo_8ball 1
No limit Omaha?
da_suit 0
You should always buy in for max, but with that being said, 10X the Max Buy in isnt enough...you should have at least 20-30 max buy ins
jburn812 0
You are underolled for this game! Oh and buy in for the max!
Actuary 3
lower buyin = lower variance
aucu 3
Another vote for the max
Herr Mensch 0
I assume we're talking about NLH?Buying in for the max is usually the correct play, but if nobody else has lots of chips, there isn't any point. The reason to have 100x the big blind instead of 20x is to improve your implied odds on your draws, right? So you can win somebody's whole stack when you hit your straight or set or whatever. But if your opponents don't have large stacks themselves, you can't make profitable speculative plays with middle suited connectors and low pairs.
pt special 0
max is prolly ok since they are all short but i dont think it matters at all if they are all playin no money, but u def shouldnt be playin 5/5 on a 5k roll.....thats begging to go broke, move down and find a smaller game and build up to about 15k or else we are going to be seeing u posting play money hands

If they have it, I'm there.(annoying that once this thread got moved from PLO to gen strat my first reply looks odd given there's no mention of omaha)
pocket3s 0
I look at the other players and buy in for the highest amount on the table or the max.
