I hate TPTK when playing with deep stacks in a rapidly growing pot.

UTG is 55/18 through 11 hands. It's a small sample size, but he is definitely looking fishy...

SB is my main concern. He is 21/10 through 204 hands, and I respect his play. I can't remember him stepping out of line.

Can anyone put up an argument for calling (or even raising) this turn? Does anyone play the flop differently?

I can put up an argument for folding the flop more than I can for calling or shoving the turn. Or pushing the flop over a call or shove on turn.

I play hand the same and fold turn, but I wish I could fold the flop more often here against a tightish player.

i don't know about calling the flop if he hasn't gotten out of line yet, he could easily have aces up or 2-2, but still it is a tough laydown on the flop

you pretty much have to fold the turn, he's not going off for a big number with a weak ace after you call his flop raise, he has at least two pair for sure

I like the flatty on the flop, and I like your laydown on the turn, assuming u did it.

I like how you played it. I don't see this being a bluff on the turn, and there isn't a hand he is value betting that you beat. If he's decided to play a flush draw strong then so be it. If you never get bluffed you're paying off too much.

When he bets two thirds+ of the pot on the turn, I think you are def. behind. It seems almost certainly to a set of eights or deuces (although, it seems to me whenever I think someone has a set, they actually have two pair and vise versa). If you have a reason to suspect that this player knows what he is doing, then his turn bet seems to be a value/pot odds blocker to price you out. I probably fold.

I don't mind a call on the flop and see what develops. He could have a flush draw and slow down on the turn, or you could turn a nut spade draw. And you have position. But the turn here is a certain fold.

FYI, you can't base anything about someone's pokertracker numbers after two orbits. If you saw the hands he showed down or how he played something, that's one thing.

I am probably folding the turn here. I am often reraising the flop though since we have the As.

I agree completely... but, um... we're not sitting 100-handed at this table. I tend to trust the players numbers after 50 hands, and I have played over 200 hands with this particular opponent.

EDIT... Oh, I see. you're talking about the UTG player. I agree with you there, but the way he played these 11 hands made me suspicious. He also bought in for something like $144.16 and posted UTG. It's surprising how reliable those two tells are in picking out the bad players.

Yep, I agree with everyone who said I should fold to the turn bet...
...Unfortunately, in this particular hand, I was married to my TPTK (for whatever reason) and called.

Against trips, I am still dead, but I just sucked out against two pair and now my opponent has given up the betting lead.

Should I bet for value here, and if so, how much?

The good news is that you're almost certainly winning. The bad news is that he probably doesn't have 2 pair and likely never had you beat so he'll have to make a tough call of any bet on the river. I shove becuase it looks kinda desperate from a busted flush draw. If he has Ax, he may look you up.
