simo_8ball 1
I don't really like repotting preflop. It's an odd situation though with the button being so shortstacked. I don't mind either way but I would lean towards just calling.I think I like checking the flop. The button is fairly irrelevant at this point with only $3 left, and either you or (far more likely) SB is drawing to at most 2 outs (or backdoor straights/flushes).Turn is an obvious check.River seems a like a pretty blatant fold. sabes99 0
i agree with simo, except i think i might just bet the SB's stack on the flop, rather than checking
simo_8ball 1
i agree with simo, except i think i might just bet the SB's stack on the flop, rather than checkingThere are a few ways to play the flop, and I don't really know which is best. a) We could just pot it and hope for the best, but that seems like spew.b) We could bet the $3.35 that the button has left.c) We could bet 1/2 to 3/4 pot (as Bud did).d) We could check.Given that the button is largely irrelevant in this hand being so short, it's a case of assessing the SB's range. We have one of two situations:1/ He has JJ or a three. We are drawing to two outs.2/ He has nothing, a J or an overpair. He is drawing to 2 outs. He probably has backdoor outs too, but w/e.We really need to assess b, c and d against cases 1 and 2 (option a is spew IMO and achieves nothing that b or c fails to accomplish).A read would be very useful. simo_8ball 1
I thought his username was silly.Better?Silly in what way? Humorous? Retarded? We could gain valuable insight into his game from this.**********Anyway, why did you lead the flop for $7? Do you think checking is better/worse?
BudBundy 0
Silly in what way? Humorous? Retarded? We could gain valuable insight into his game from this.**********Anyway, why did you lead the flop for $7? Do you think checking is better/worse?I wanted SB off the pot. I chose 7$ because he can't make a play back at me with air or something because it leaves 13$ dollars in my stack. He was going to think i won't fold anyway because pot is so big. That's why if he calls/raises i was going to be sure that he has jacks or a 3. I thought betting > checking because checking gives him a free card and more importantly a chance to make a play on turn.
simo_8ball 1
You make a very good case.I like your bet size.
Skittles 0
As played preflop, I think you played it fine, river should be a fold.
Actuary 3
Do you let him make a play, though, when you check the turn?
simo_8ball 1
Do you let him make a play, though, when you check the turn?I have a habit of making very marginal plays that put me in awkward situations. This would be a prime example. I do think though that it's the best option if you have a decent read on your opponent.
BudBundy 0
Do you let him make a play, though, when you check the turn?I didn't get this. Are you suggesting a bet on turn?
Actuary 3
I didn't get this. Are you suggesting a bet on turn?I'm not good enough to suggest anything.I was contrasting your loigc for betting the flop with the turn check
