Insta-fold or do you play that hand?UTG was very tight, but still a donk probably, only showdown was when he called down all the way with bottom pair/weak kicker. The other two players are donks, but no specific read beyond that, unpredictable.edit: $10 STT btw.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)UTG+1 (t1190)MP1 (t575)MP2 (t3805)CO (t1110)Button (t2370)SB (t1750)Hero (t1705)UTG (t995)Preflop: Hero is BB with 9spade.gif, 9heart.gif. UTG raises to t200, 1 fold, MP1 calls t200, 2 folds, Button calls t200, 1 fold, Hero?.

i think i'd just call and take a flop, with almost 35 BB i think we have enough left to just take a flop and play the hand cautiously

Yeah, but look at the stack sizes we are against. If they all had >1700 shoving would be too much of an overbet. It's going to be very tough to continue postflop unless we hit a set, and we don't have the implied odds to call if we are playing set or fold on the flop.

Simo, could you explain why you might shove here? It seems like a suicide move to me...
Notice the stack sizes. UTG only has $1k, and MP1 has $575.While I'm a little worried about MP smooth calling over 1/3 of his stack, there is 675 in the middle already.I'm not worried about the button (any hand TT+ would usually reraise from his position).

true, maybe just difference in styles, but i'd rather not shove and have the button gamble for half his stack with A-J/A-Q and play a big coin flip...or worse than that, be crushed by the UTG player and lose more than half our stack

I just typed out a thorough response to this and it got erased..Im gonna throw the laptop through the windowOk here it goes againI don't really like any of our options here..Its a tricky hand..First off, I thought calling and playing for set value would be a good idea but there is not enough implied odds due to utg and mp1 being really short..99 is almost never going to be good unimproved in a 4 way pot postflop, which rules out cold calling..Also I think original raiser's range from UTG is pretty tight..He just put in 1/5 of his stack from utg which shows a fair amount of strength to me..I would assume that MP1's money is going all in here, due to him calling 1/3 of his stack pf..Very strange play, could mean monster..I just have a feeling you end up in a 3 way all in pot with not enough dead money in there (250) to justify the pushWith all that in mind, I just think folding is the best option..Limited implied odds, OOP, signs of strength from multiple opponents, etc
