Would anyone play this hand differently? Near chip-lead 5 handed. Two guys I have covered raise the pot in front of me. I have Aces (1 suited) and know at least one of these guys is betting with kings. I knew the guy I raised all-in would calI so my chances of winning this hand against two others is probably not great. I also know folding here is a puss move. Do I whine about their suck-out and move on or would anyone after a different strategy? If I fold, I know one play is going out or at least crippled.PokerStars Game #1558291185: Tournament #7193010, Omaha Pot Limit - Level V (75/150) - 2005/04/21 - 00:17:00 (ET)Table '7193010 1' Seat #5 is the buttonSeat 1: bulldog999 (3460 in chips) Seat 5: drnknSctyB (1850 in chips) Seat 7: TheJake123 (1035 in chips) Seat 8: shtrmcgvn (3440 in chips) Seat 9: nadatell (3715 in chips) TheJake123: posts small blind 75shtrmcgvn: posts big blind 150*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to bulldog999 [Ac 6h Ah 9d]nadatell: calls 150bulldog999: calls 150drnknSctyB: raises 675 to 825TheJake123: raises 210 to 1035 and is all-inshtrmcgvn: folds nadatell: folds bulldog999: raises 2425 to 3460 and is all-indrnknSctyB: calls 1025 and is all-innadatell said, "not that good"*** FLOP *** [8c Jc Ks]*** TURN *** [8c Jc Ks] [2s]nadatell said, "damn"*** RIVER *** [8c Jc Ks 2s] [2c]*** SHOW DOWN ***bulldog999: shows [Ac 6h Ah 9d] (two pair, Aces and Deuces)drnknSctyB: shows [Js 8d Jh 9s] (a full house, Jacks full of Deuces)drnknSctyB collected 1630 from side potTheJake123: shows [Th 9h Kd Kh] (a full house, Kings full of Deuces)TheJake123 collected 3405 from main pot*** SUMMARY ***Total pot 5035 Main pot 3405. Your initial limp into the hand was the puss move.Might as well have folded to the raise/reraise after that.

Not at all. I would lose with that hand too...just differently. With a decent raise instead of a limp though, calling the all-ins is a no brainer. The hand got away from you and someone sucked out. That's poker.

I'm not crazy about playing a two card hand for all of my money. If you knew what their hands were, you'd obviously call, but how did you know that you weren't up against another pair of aces? Incidentally, here are your odds of winning.Calculation results from Poker Calculator 1.1.4.1Omaha Hold'em, 658008 combinations tested.Hand | AhAc9d6h | JhJs9s8d | KhKdTh9h |------+--------------+--------------+--------------+Win | 300736 | 208107 | 146449 |Draw | 0 | 2716 | 2716 |Lose | 357272 | 447185 | 508843 |------+--------------+--------------+--------------+Win% | 45.7% | 31.83% | 22.46% |------+--------------+--------------+--------------+AhAc9d6h: Pair win: 42228 draw: 0 lose: 142058 Two Pair win: 92742 draw: 0 lose: 139888 Three of a Kind win: 65868 draw: 0 lose: 39952 Straight win: 10477 draw: 0 lose: 26975 Flush win: 17436 draw: 0 lose: 1300 Full House win: 62889 draw: 0 lose: 7094 Quads win: 9096 draw: 0 lose: 5 JhJs9s8d: Pair win: 0 draw: 0 lose: 137071 Two Pair win: 3988 draw: 0 lose: 196314 Three of a Kind win: 31881 draw: 0 lose: 49883 Straight win: 64838 draw: 2716 lose: 18751 Flush win: 56070 draw: 0 lose: 15547 Full House win: 40382 draw: 0 lose: 29545 Quads win: 9022 draw: 0 lose: 74 Straight Flush win: 1926 draw: 0 lose: 0 KhKdTh9h: Pair win: 0 draw: 0 lose: 170344 Two Pair win: 2678 draw: 0 lose: 225623 Three of a Kind win: 47711 draw: 0 lose: 51374 Straight win: 41055 draw: 2716 lose: 18687 Flush win: 0 draw: 0 lose: 18736 Full House win: 45982 draw: 0 lose: 24001 Quads win: 9023 draw: 0 lose: 78 (sorry about the ugly formatting)

I'm a noob at Omaha, but I was under the impression that aces weren't really something to get excited about unless your other two cards are at least somewhat coordinated with them. Absent that, given that top pair doesn't win a lot of Omaha hands you're basically hoping to either catch a two-outer or see the board pair in order to have a decent hand, and even that might not be enough. Have I been misinformed?

No, this is basically correct (Though one of the OP's aces was suited at least). Naked aces in Omaha are like a small pocket pair in Hold 'Em--play them to hit your set, get the hell out if you miss the flop.

Your re-raise all-in pre-flop is absolutely horrible. This is one of the biggest mistakes novice Omaha Hi players make. You have one pair (aces) and one of them is suited.A horrible drawing hand in this game that is very unlikely to hold up in a multi-way pot. It is raised, then re-raised before you. I am folding pre-flop.There is a huge difference between a hand likeA :club: 6 :) A :club: 9 :D [your hand]andA :club: 10 :club: A :) Q :D Do you understand why?
