6 handed NL .25/.5UTG calls (very tight player, but tight/weak almost)Folded to be on the button with 10 10. I raise to 2.00SB Calls (he had really just sat down)UTG raises to 7.50. ( my read is he has a bigger pocket pair than me)But i call. just wanting to see what happens.SB Calls.FLop AK10 rainbow. Good for me cause I flopped a set but the board is kinda scarey for me given my earlier read....UTG bets $2.What do you guys do here?I probalby played it very weak, but I just called.SB callsNext card 8UTG bets$2. I call again. ( thought about raising here cause I thought he might have had queens, but I was also concerned with the SB limping along and calling everything). Like i said... i think i played this too weak. River 8CHECKED to me? I actually figure I have the best hand now? and made a stupid bet on the river of like 1/2 the pot. They both fold???? ( Bet was stupid cause i'm only getting called by hands that have me beat except for maybe if the SB had limped and flopped the str8.)

That's an exceedingly weak flop betThat probably signals some strength, but I'd still raise him back.If he truly has a higher pair, he's only ahead of you 50% of the time, you have to buy some information, especially with that other hand in therePop back on the turn alsoI like your river bet, it's not a dumb bet, because you're ahead here the majority of the time, with only KK and AA as problems
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

I was thinking about raising him back, but the only reason I didn't was because the pot was so big already. Something like 26, so I would have had to put in atleast 15 just for information. My first instinct at the flop was just to try to get to a showdown as cheap as possible. with the way it played out... the only hand that I could have put him on with the preflop raise was QQ. And QQ probably isn't gonna call. So I still think my river bet is awful. Maybe he calls with AK, but why check it on the river?

Eddie's right, straights that were made on the flop will call you here often

I figure a str8 would call me, but thought a str8 would have bet the river in the first place since I was the last to act and the SB was the guy who I thought could have been slowplaying a made str8 since the flop. With the little action that was coming, I didn't think that he would be scared to fire a bet into the pot. (Maybe he would have been). I was just saying that a str8 would have been the only hand that would have called me on the river with the bet I put out.
