He thought about the flop for a while, and when the 8 hit on the turn I felt a little sick, because I think it's not unreasonable to call that flop with A8. Do you make the call here?

Yeah A8 seems pretty reasonable. But dont you think with A8 he raises the flop. I think the only hands he might just call the flop and turn with are 77, 33, 56, 910. I say unless you have a good read that he has 888 or better I would call here for all my money and hope to see 910.

I would have raised to 120 being OOP for the rest of the hand and having two limpers already in. I think that raise size gets A8 out of there and leaves the set as your only worry. Here, you have to be worried about hands like 8x due to the smaller reraise that you made.I would call here especially since you raised preflop the two hands before this - although you had good hands, you probably seem like a LAG to all the other players raising three hands in a row.Villain could put you on a big Ace which the flop has totally missed. I call and hope to see a bluff or a weaker PP.

pre-raise moreflop-raise moreturn- raise moreriver-check call as played. The fact that he'd limped previously and you'd raised previously sets up your image here and that's perfect for you. Call and watch him table 67, Mikey's the big winner!!!

well put sir. I might fold this in a cash game, but in a tourny where the money is all in the top 3 I would go for doubling my stack early. It depends on the stakes of this tourny too, but I find that players suck even in $100 buy in events. When I first read the hand I thought probably 9 10 or like 10-7. He wouldn't slow play such a low top pair here by just calling... even morons drive out the big cards when they flop piss poor top pair. I think you had the best hand.

Results below:

You're right, I should have bet more on the turn. Raising both previous hands and the weak flop and turn bet set me up for the bluff, I took about 20 seconds then folded, and he showed K :D Q :club: . He was knocked out a couple hands later, and I was left with 1000 chips when I shoulda had 3000.

sadly i already read the results, but i was thinking as I read this post that villain could have 3 types of hands:1. Monster, a set, A8 (trips on turn)2. A draw, the only ones I see are 56 and 910.3. Air. You've been active, and he's calling to bluff if you don't fire a third bullet on the river.I think image could play a lot into your decision here. You're on a heater, but they don't know that. I think your bet sizes scream marginal hand on the flop and turn. A creative lag player could induce that you have high cards and are just c/b-ing the flop and turn (which you did so, but weakly). I think a blocker bet of about 1/2 the pot on the river is good.... if villain pushes, you have a decision, but IMO calling>folding on the river to a push. I tend to not believe people too often in lower limit mtt's early on, because, well, there are just so many bad players.
