Encountered the following today online:Was playing a single table SNG. Was early so blinds were low relative to stack sizes. I had an average stack. I had KK in the hole. I laid out a pretty big bet pre-flop, about 20% of my stack. I was surprised to get two callers. The flop came two blanks and one ace (all clubs). It was a very scary flop for me, but I decided to bet double my pre-flop raise and try to prevent anyone from outdrawing me. The Ace did scare me but I had a K of clubs so I had the nut flush draw in case an Ace was out there. One guy dropped, the other called my bet. The turn was a blank and my opponent checked. I senses a trap so I cautiously checked as well, hoping to see a club. The river came a Jack, and my opponent bet all-in. It was probably foolish to call this bet, as he could have had As or a flush all along. But I called anyways because I sensed weakness and I had a considerable amount of my stack in the pot.He turned over two Jacks, making a set of Jacks to win the hand over my pair of Kings. No clubs. The guy called a big pre-flop bet, a huge post-flop bet, with not even high pair or a flush draw... just Jacks!

No, this occurred on PokerStars, but it was only a 10$ buy in SNG. Really takes the air out of you when you see someone get rewarded for making such a dumb move.

these things happen. I was stuck $200 in 30 mins last nite playing 2/4, let's you know how tough poker can be last nite. I ended up getting stuck close to $300 for the nite, which I guess I was lucky to have happen considering I had AA and KK each cracked 3 times.also, you checked the turn giving him the free card, so you let him outdraw you, not really a bad beat at all.

I'm in a $30+3 multi table at UB with 190 players. I'm sitting at 6965chips after investing 1h 50 min the blinds are 150-300 and I get JJ first position and raise to 1100. Everyone folds the BB goes all in for 7500, I call. He shows AK offsuit. here is the history, needless to say i had my hands int eh air thinking I won. It was the worst backdoor i've ever experienced mostly due to the time and the place I would have been in afterwards.Hand #3801825-136 at Wed3pmA-010 (No Limit tournament Hold'em)Powered by UltimateBetStarted at 29/Dec/04 16:49:02 carreraboy is at seat 0 with 7635. are you insane? I don't think there's any other place online or live that offers more moneymaking opportunities than PP for low and mid limit players. Learn to laugh at bad beats and recognize that getting the best of it in a cash game is all you should be striving for. That being said...I'm in a live NL game, blinds are 1-1-2 and people are regularly calling huge raises with trash because of inplied odds. Fine. I limp behind everyone else with Ks9s on the button and 6 of us take the flop. It comes 5s6sJs. Middle players bets, I raise close to the size of the pot. SB check raises the size of the pot, the middle player folds and I move in knowing I have the best hand. SB turns over A4. Only the 4 is a spade. Wow. I prepare myself to rake in a monster pot when a 2s followed by a 3s fall in short succession. The guy almost mucks his hand because he doesn't see it. Running straight flush. I've been beaten by 1 outers before but that was the 1st time I've been beaten by less than 1 out. Oh well. P.S. How's it going Mandelbrot? Haven't seen you around since the WCOOP chop. To this day I still feel a twinge of regret at chopping it up but the blinds really were way to high at that point. If my AK had held up against your K10 a few hands before that who knows what the outcome might have been.
