Nearing Bubble In 33$ Mtt With 99

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a great price and am likely to be heads up with MP1 since UTG+1 has been fairly active and can only call this raise with a very tight range. Only read is that MP1 insta-shoved in his whole stack (confidence?). Is this AK enough to warrant a call with an M around 3 for a chance to triple up? (there are also 450 worth of antes in the pot preflop)There are about 80 people left with an average stack around 9k first place is 4k and payouts heavily weighted towards the final table (60 places pay and 60 gets $55)PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)UTG+1 (t18140)MP1 (t12086)Hero (t3930)MP3 (t7583)CO (t3867)Button (t20182)SB (t2994)BB (t6681)UTG (t3263)Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 9 :D , 9 :club: . 1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t1800, MP1 raises to t12036, Hero ???

I fold here - MP1 has something to be tangling with one of the big stacks at the table. Although UTG+1 has been active, he could have a very strong hand too since he fired from EP. You still have the other players to act behind you also.Still far enough from the bubble (39 to go) before the two big stacks are stealing with abandon so it's more likely that one of them has a better PP.

I would fold and wait for a better spot.Even if they don't have a higher pocket pair, you are at best maybe 51 - 56% depending on the range.

I agree MP has to have a very strong hand here - What is your calling range? JJ+, AK+?

I think this is just barely a fold...we have to take into consideration that MP1 could've gotten away with a reraise and taken it down, so the push, I think, means he prefers to isolate the raiser and hopefully take down the pot right there, as opposed to seeking a call for his AA/KK.So, since this is so close, especially considering your stack, I say I get my money in with 1010 and higher pairs, and AK.

what makes TT different from 99 in this situation?
One more hand that we beat? lol - I agree, not much of a difference.

I would call with JJ+ mainly because in events this small you get people pushing with the damndest things. You need the chips, and he could very well have a hand like 10 10. I've even seen some people turn up a hand like 77 here. Gun to my head, I would guess he has AK though.

I thought so too, and was wrong. He had QQ and I missed my two outs for a triple up.
