dropped a world of money the last 2 days

Recommended Posts

Well folks, where's the nearest bridge or cliff so i can jump off of it. Beginning of the week, first was the run of cold cards....this is what i call, the nut buster. But i dropped a very, very small amount of money during these "cold card" days. Which i find is odd. Then last 2 days , ok my luck is changing. Im seeing AA,KK,QQ - everything i can imagine. Unfortunately, I've lost 8 out of my last 10 pocket aces that were played on the flop. (Yes, count it right ive seen a total of at least 14 (and this is in a total of say 12 hours), but I just haven't had the privelage to get beat by them by playing past preflop . And then there are my other pocket pairs that have lost... I dont recall how many times ive had them but believe me, there were A LOT!Anyways, a taste of what has comei have aa5/10 no limit cash gamePF raise 125guy1 callsguy2 reraises 230i reraise 430guy1 callsguy2 callsalright i got some action!flop 79TNICE FLOP!i go all inguy 1 callsguy 2 reraises guy1 callsguy 1 shows 88guy 2 shows kkturn: 79tjriver: 5dropped about 1k on this one well not gonna post anymore , its just time to forget them and take a break of poker for a few days, my body's been under enough stress and i think im gonna have a heart attack or stroke if i see another bad beat. Least i got some frustration out while writing this.Downright abyssmal.

I've been there myself and tried to learn that AA can blind you to the board. If you had seen that flop and thought it through, you might not have risked all. But AA just triggers an "I can't lose" reaction that can prevent you from doing the prudent thing.I had AA this morning and knew I was ahead in the hand, but when a third spade came at the turn and a formerly passive checker raised into me, I had to take a deep breath and fold. I've wasted enough money thinking people are bluffing me and 98% of the time they are not foolin''. At least in a limit game you can't risk everything.I always have a sick feeling when I catch pocket Aces and someone goes all-in ahead of me. I am obliged to call it, but I know how easy it is to lose to any other pocket pair. In the reverse situation, I won a hundred dollar pot in Commerce ($3/$6) where there was a bet and a raise and a reraise ahead of me. I had KK and put the guy to my right on AA. I capped it, more raising after the flop, and I caught another K at the turn. He had AA, but in a virtual dead even race, I won. I have lost with AA recently to 88 and 44 where they made trips on the flop.Koroshiya

Rough beat.  Though, just so you know, 10-9-7 is not a terribly good flop for aces.
Ya i think it is... if you bet 25x the BB. Its not limit. Of course if your willing to play 88 when i bet 25x the BB... ill be happy to play you

Well folks, where's the nearest bridge or cliff so i can jump off of it. ...take a left on maple. The youll see this big orange sign. Take a left 7.5 mi. after that. If you see a hobo with a sign that reads "look at me, I'm Jewish". Youve gone too far. Once you turn, for about 5 mi youll have to drive as fast as possible and duck. Taliban memebrs are everywhere waiting to shot you. Once you hear a "boom" then youre good. Then youll see an arcade. Go in there and ask for a Rough Hick named "Jim" wholl give you a gold key. Drive around the arcade and youll see a mountain, ingore it. Drive through a tunnel on your left and give the tool booth man the gold key. Hell in turn give you a punch in the face, followed by a coin that says "boo!" Then drive excatly 69 miles till you see a strip club. Go into the ladies restroom and put the coin in one of those condom dispenser machine. Itll drop out a paperclip. Give this to the nearest police man wholl give you a map. Follow the map to the "X" at which point you will be falling off a cliff.Enjoy

flop 79TNICE FLOP!i go all in
I agree with going all-in here (to hopefully deter anyone from chasing a straight here, it just so happens in this case that someone had an 8 and got lucky to make the straight). I don't agree that it was a nice flop, but maybe you were being sarcastic. The call by the pocket 8's pre-flop AND post-flop was very questionable in my mind, so I think you played it correctly.
