Question About My Play

ive been playing poker for only a year on and off and i have a question about how i got knocked out in a tournament a couple days ago.it was a 100 dollar, 30 person tourney, top 4 pay, 60 thousand total chips on the table.there were 6 people left, blinds were 400-800.i was 3rd with 10200 chips,and the chip leader who was to the left of me had 16-17k chips.i was in the big blind, and then the chip leader minraised to 1600. it was folded around to me and i had queens and i pushed all in. he had aces and i got knocked out.what was the correct move in that situation?

Hey OP,I'll take it easy on ya cuz it's your first post. ;)Firstly, there's a tourney forum for tourney questions, I'll move this there, no worries.Secondly, try to avoid posting cooler hands like this, where you lose with a monster to a bigger monster. It's simply a part of poker. You can't win every hand.Also, please do not post results. The idea is for us to only know what you knew at the time of the decision you are questioning. Results will skew the responses, believe it or not.Anyways, welcome to the forum.- Zach

Yeah, nothing you can do there with the QQ. Maybe sometimes (like 20% of the time) you can flat call and check raise all in on flop (any non-ace flop).But in this case, if the flop comes 668 and you check raise all in, your still getting called and losing your chips.

Youve got an M of almost 9. I would raise to 2000, trying to get some value from QQ. Youre going to get reraised and pretty much have to call and be back in the same spot though.
