Fire Again, Or Pull Back?

Very early, 3rd hand I think.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)MP3 (t1260)CO (t1400)Button (t1470)SB (t1480)Hero (t1500)UTG (t1500)UTG+1 (t1500)MP1 (t1910)MP2 (t1480)Preflop: Hero is BB with Jclub.gif, Kdiamond.gif. 2 folds, MP1 calls t20, 1 fold, MP3 calls t20, 1 fold, Button calls t20, SB completes, Hero checks.Flop: (t100) Tspade.gif, Jdiamond.gif, 6diamond.gif(5 players)SB checks, Hero bets t80, MP1 calls t80, MP3 calls t80, Button folds, SB calls t80.Turn: (t420) 4heart.gif(4 players)SB checks, Hero ???Against a single opponent I would have no hesitation about firing a second shot on the turn, but after 3 opponents called my 3/4 pot bet on the flop I was reluctant to risk too much of my stack on a decent but vulnerable hand. To make a large enough bet on the turn to protect against the possible diamond draw, I would be risking at least 20% of my stack.

I would fire a bet of 300 - the 4 didn't help anybody and anyone with a better hand should have raise behind you to shut off all the draws that are out there. It's likely that you have the best hand but you can't afford to give a free card here. Either that or you check and hope that everyone checks it down and the river card is harmless.

Firing a bet of about 300 is exactly where I got the 20% figure from in my above post. Situations like this are precisely the reason why I stay away from trouble hands in the early stages in these $1.20's, because it often results in having to spend the rest of the tourney digging myself out of the hole I created. Unfortunately, I got to see the flop for free so I ended up playing a hand I wouldn't have played in any other position. So it sounds like people are leaning toward the lead of about 300 but it's a close call between checking and hoping for a harmless river card.
