Against an unknown, I am absolutely playing it the same.But how do his stats effect this? This is one area of my game that I seriously need to work on. Maybe I should get back into posting hands.And it's A4, donk.

That's pretty funny. Got it heads up there, huh? Scared them with that UTG limp?Flop is fine. You'll cap there no matter what. Nut flush draw and a gutter ball, you're fine. I 3-bet this river, but only because I'm hard on myself about missing value bets. I'll be more unhappy about missing one bet when I'm ahead than by reopening the betting and losing two when I'm behind. Either way, I think it's a pretty easy 3-bet in a heads-up pot. The four completes a straight draw, and he could have any number of weird holdings, especially given his lack of a turn check/raise. Wang

I'm good with the flop 3-bet. Once he doesn't cap I think he's got a piece of this flop, but not as much as trips or 2 pair.Nice turn. And he just calls.Now why is he raising the river, when he didn't raise the turn. There are only two explainations - he's got 54 which is why he raised your flop bet, thinking you were trying to adopt an orphan with air - tough luck. Or, the 4 made him a straight - happy days. Or maybe even, behind door #3, then check raise river bluff - but do we really expect that at PS .5/1? Similarly, I'm discounting that he flopped two pair and boated on the turn, only to check call.I think I'm winning to pop one more raise on this river.

Yes, don't be scared. Even the fact that you have a 4 in your hand is a factor here. 54 is that much less likely.

this also looks like a very improbable 44and i think 4-5 (or any 5) probably c/r the turnid have to 3-bet the river.(also, in addition to the flush draw and gutshot, we have an overcard, which makes the flop 3-bet even more better, which nobody pointed out yet so i figured i would.)

I play this river by feel, btw.If he's been raising with the nuts only, etc, it's an easy call, but if I get the sense he's raising light all over the place, which happens a lot more at SH, then I'd be happy to 3-ball n call.Flop and turn play are excellent.
