I was wondering what your thoughts are about the pros/cons of sunglasses to no sunglasses are in live poker, specifically tournament live poker. I think people who wear them are usually A-holes.I dont like iPod bc I'd rather hear whats being said at the table. Turning it on and off is annoying. Balloon guy 158 Posted January 12, 2011 Share Posted January 12, 2011 Watching PAD this week Doyle was complaining about them and I started thinking, Sure, you don't want others to wear them because you've got 50 years of experience to fall back on.What makes my wearing sunglasses to help even out my lack of experience compared to Doyle wrong?And the funny thing is that the reason that sunglasses are wrong ( besides the cheating one ) is the whole you are playing live thing. Merby 3 Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Generally speaking, I prefer a monocle, but when I'm in a really serious tournament, I pull out the big guns: an eye patch.Every break while I am away from the table, I switch which eye is covered by my eye patch -- after all, I need to balance my vision range against my more observant opponents. It is super simple to mark them during a game. There are other vidoes showing this. They are also marked on the side so unless you are completely covering your cards (which the dealers then complain about cause they say they can't tell if you have cards) then this can happen easily enough. It's very annoying to play with him when he keeps jacking with that stupid cassette player of his at the table and those 1970's headphones he has all taped up keep falling off!As for me, if shades are good enough for the likes of Hellmuth and Ferguson, they're good enuff 4 me.
