  1. Congrats on making it, I'll see you there. Also been struggling with the fact that it's going to be Limit. I'm 100% a limit player at heart. The low limit poker you find online is something that I don't think can really prepare you for playing against a table at a tournament, so study up do the best you can.-PokerGeek
  2. Good point! A bit late to try and pull it off unnoticed though. -PokerGeek
  3. After reading everyone's posts, I'm changing my answer to call. A guy can admit he thinks he's wrong.Of course, Daniel's gonna come back and say the answer's fold. -PokerGeek
  4. I fold. Antonio might have said that he isn't going to double you up so you'd believe his hand was strong, but I would think it's a reverse psychology ploy and you wanna lay this one down. You have many more chances to find Q7s or higher, there's no need to call all-in with 78s yet.-PokerGeek
  5. I respect both Daniel and Sklansky's opinions and comments, but this part of Sklansky's response made me chuckle -- Wow, let's make up games to refute Daniel's comment. That's the kind of logic that someone uses when someone's given a last wish before being put in the electric chair and they say, "Yeah, don't kill me."It's the context, not the syntax. Meaning of statement, not exact interpretation. Sklansky's acting like a lawyer looking for loopholes.Personally, it sounds like both Daniel and Sklansky believe about the same thing, but feel like they're still opposed and are nitpicking over
  6. I'm a blogger, so i'm required by several state and federal laws to say 72 offsuit.... THE HAMMER!!!Show the hammer after bluffing (or as we say, 'bring the hammer down'), and put your opponent on tilt. *Win* with the hammer, and watch people throw chairs. If you're into the psychological part of poker, 72o can be one of your most powerful tools.other than that, my own personal favorite is red 10's, mostly because of a few memorable hands where it won me some gargantuan pots.-PokerGeek
  7. I only won 75 bucks instead of 250 doing the same thing. I had boat on the flop with :spadesj: :spades6: and the flop came: :heartsj: :clubs6: :diamonds6: After he called my 15 buck bet on the flop and my 60 buck bet on the turn, I went all in on the river. I wasn't watching, i was staring at the board making sure i didn't just bet into a bigger full house. He said, "Do you have the jack?"And i thought he had pushed. I flipped over my cards. "I have a boat."Whooooops.He folded, of course.-PokerGeek
  8. Full Writeup is up. Enjoy.http://pokergeek.blogspot.com/2005/02/wpt-...nal-part-1.html-PokerGeek
  9. Just wanted to do a quick shout out for Daniel for being nice enough to stop talk for a few minutes during the whilrwind that was. After reading his journal entry, I have to salute the guy even more for being so nice while things were so insane.I'm still working on a full write-up for the blog (link in sig), but the day was crazy for me too... I ended up in a cash game with Jon Favreau, Ray Romano, Brad Garrett, the founder of the WPT, and Wil Wheaton.Yeah, this is gonna take awhile to write.Anyways, Daniel, thanks again, it was a thrill to say hi.-PokerGeek
  10. I wish DN was gonna be there, but he's said he's playing in the WSOP Curcuit event in Vegas instead. -PokerGeek
  11. ErikM has said it better than I ever could. Thanks.-PokerGeek
  12. The rules say pretty specifically that entries are non-transferrable, but if you ask nicely enough and are a really good player (read: lots of rake) then they might make an exception. Never hurts to try. This being the first time I've ever played in a major tourney, if they said i could just take 3/4th of the entry fee and walk away, I'd be tempted. But then again, so would most of the players that won entries, thus probably why they don't offer them... half the field would disappear and the event would lose its appeal.Chris Ferguson is gonna be on the cruise, looking forward to losing- er- sit
  13. Up 3,000 from 50 bucks, plus a PartyPoker.com Cruise entry.Things are good. -PokerGeek
  14. Only that when I play, I play for the win, not to limp into the money. If I ever make the decision that winning the tournament is out of reach and that I'm content to limp away with just over my initial buy-in, then I've wasted my time even entering the tournament.See my signature for an appropriate quote.-PokerGeek
