If your looking to play poker. I believe Hollywood in Aurora is the only one in IL. Indiana has Resorts and Horseshoe. All 3 uaually have pretty soft games. The 10/20 limit game at Hollywood is full of fishes. As far as gambling goes I like Victoria in Elgin

The Majestic II (formerly the Trump) and Resorts are about 40 mins from downtown Chicago, but with the construction on the Dan Ryan, it could be over an hour. Both are in Northwest Indiana.Majestic II basically spreads 2 games, 3-6 Holdem and 200 max (2-5 blinds) NL HE. On weekends, you'll find a 6-12 Holdem and a bigger NL cash game in addition to the above. At Resorts, they spread a lot of games, 1-5 Stud, 2-10 Stud, 5-10 Holdem, 10-20 Holdem, 20-40 Holdem, 500 max (5-10 blinds) NL and bigger NL cash games. All the games are juicy at the Resorts and Majestic II. Of course, you'll get really sick beats at the 3-6 Holdem game.best of luck.

Horseshoe doesn't have cards. The others do.
It's true what they say about money... it can't make you happy. However, the small things you can do with it, can bring happiness to others.

yes horseshoe does have cards if you want NL you have to go to IND because IL doesn't have it. for NL majestic has 2-5 200 buy in and resorts has 5-10 500max also they have a good 20-40limit haven't been to the shoe yet. But IL poker rooms suck.

This is from the horseshoe :Pull up a seat and enjoy an exciting game of poker at Horseshoe Hammond. We have some of today's most popular games, like No Limit Texas Hold'Em, and we offer daily, weekly and monthly tournaments. Plus, you could win a seat into the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event! Stop by and try your hand at the non-stop action at the hottest tables in Chicagoland!

I'm on the north side. That's why I basically play exclusively on the Internet. It's a PITA drive to any casino.

Agreed!!! The poker rooms in Chicago SUCK compared to Casino AZ baby!!!I've played in Potowatotami or whatever in Milwaukee. Its about an hour and a half from downtown Chicago. Small but decent. Only had one NL table. Also played at the Majestic Star II or whatever its called in Indiana, about 30/40 mins from downtown Chicago. It was big, but miserable. The dealers were horrible, and the time charge seemed excessive, but thats the only place I've ever played with a time charge so ???So yeah, move back to Phx :)Mark

I saw that website too and called the casino using a number that I found on that website. The operator told me that they don't have a poker room, so either the website is wrong or the casino lady is wrong.I do suspect however that the website is in preparation for a new boat. Some of the dealers at Resorts were talking about Horseshoe getting a new boat with a poker room, so the website could be jumping the gun.As far as I know, Horseshoe does NOT currently have a poker room.
