  1. From what I've read, Pokertracker's rake amount may not be 100% correct. If you are playing with a bonus, most likely a rakeback deal will not help out that much since most of them take your bonus out of the rakeback. I believe that the FCP 9X bonus works out to be a little better than 80% rakeback. Also I believe SunPoker is no longer taking the bonus out of rakeback, PM me if you want details on where to signup.
  2. I think most people use percentages of the bankroll for daily stop losses. I would definitely take a break if I lost 10% of my bankroll in one day.For moving down in limits, use the max buy in compared to your bankroll. So if you are comfortable playing 400NL with a 20X buy in bankroll, move down if you drop to 8K. I would like to have a larger bankroll if you count on any of the money as income. (30X buy in for a part-time job, this way if I have a bad month I still have money to work with.)
  3. I agree. 65 million total earnings is almost too hard to swallow, but I can see how it is possible if you throw everything into the mix (endorsements, investments, gained equity is real estate, etc.)He made about 3.5 million on tourneys last year. Let's say he is averaging 1BB/hour from ring game poker. Working a normal work schedule would get him about 8 million (using the big game for #s.) So I'm thinking even in his best year, 20 million would be high. Of course what do I know, I'm doing good to hit $5/hour and that includes bonus money.
  4. I'm 37 and just started taking Adderall 2 months ago. I take a 30mg Aderall XR every morning. It has been a life changer. I use to self medicate with marijuana and although I still get high, I don't feel like I "have to" anymore. As far as poker goes, I can concentrate better and longer, but I still need a break after an hour of multi-tabling.The biggest difference is work. Situations that used to just make me freakin crazy, I can now handle with grace and patience. I can still acknowledge the chaos of the situation, but I am better able to focus and not let the chaos of the situation or o

  6. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naturalistic_Pantheismor any religion that involves lots of sex and drugs!
  7. "Although marijuana significantly increased the number of premature responses and the time participants required to complete several tasks, it had no effect on accuracy on measures of cognitive flexibility, mental calculation, and reasoning," researchers concluded.http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=4369Just take your time and you will be fine. I usually do not multi-table after smoking because of the increased time needed when making big decisions.
  8. I take adderall, and it works great! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adderall
  9. If you are going to play SNGs for profit, you need to look at it in terms of ROI% (ROI is calculated as 100 * total profit/total buy-in) and EV (what is your expected value for each tournament.) Don't look at individual tourneys, too much luck involved. Get a large sample. When I was playing a lot of $5.50 SNGs, my ROI% was 32% and my EV was $2.40/hr. If you are playing within your bankroll, going out on the bubble should not bother you too much, just start a new one.If they changed the payout, it would just change where the bubble is located, you would still bubble sometimes. What it could
  10. What games and limits do you usually play? Can you pinpoint one thing that Cardrunners has helped you with that has made the most difference in your game? I think if May continues to be a good month for me, I will join up and see if it is worth it.
  11. I think this advice is right on for someone playing professionally at the higher limits. While mathematically 25 buy-ins might be sufficient for a player who is not dependent upon poker for income, it is not big enough to overcome the emotions of a downswing when you are depending upon that income. What I am currently using for bankroll requirements as I try to move up (I am also not depending on poker for anything other than extra beer money)50NL 25 buyins = 1250100NL 30 buyins = 3000200NL 50 buyins = 10K <-- at this point I will start to try and get some regular income out of poker.Of co
  12. Did you choose PXF because you play more tourneys than cash games? What part of your game do you think was helped most by joining PXF? Is there anything that you thought it would be able to help you with, and were disappointed?I am a recreational player trying to become a semi-pro for part time income. I'm really trying to improve my NL cash game, and am looking at CR. For someone with a bankroll of approx 1.5K that is playing 50NL, do you think it would be worth the investment?
  13. This is my approach as well. It took me a while to realize that the bankroll requirements were based on pure math. It does not take into account what my mental state is after a loss. So while my win rate and SD dictate a bankroll for 100NL of 2K, I know that I can not handle the downswings and it will have an effect on my game. My solution is to make sure I have 30 buy ins for 100NL and I will require even more than 30 before moving up to 200NL
  14. more like 50-100 years. Don't make the mistake of thinking linearly, think exponential growth.Check out:http://www.kurzweilai.net/meme/frame.html?m=1
  15. Kinda like how you get mad when people make fun of stupid people??I'm a 6'1" 205 hockey player, and I bet I could whoop your ass. Is that enough for you??And where did I get mad about people making fun of stupid people? I was just pointing out that I don't see people running to the defense of stupid people when they are the target. God forbid you make fun of a fat person, then we get all these holier than thou types.Woop my ass???? Ok... must be the steriods... whatever dude
