Ok, I will tell you str8 up. I use too many words. And this is my first "new topic". What a recipe for disaster.I heard on the radio last week that my local rock station was joining forces with my local Hooters to have a Poker tournament where the winner gets an all expenses paid trip for 2 to Vegas to stay at the Hooters Hotel and Casino. I happened to be drinking to much and decided to look into it. Turns out you have to sign up for a free rafle and they would draw 30 names from a hat and those 30 names would be the players. Sweet. It is free. So I luck out and my name is drawn. Last night was the tourny. Here is the run down (this is where it turns into a crap fest):I show up and register on time. I am the ONLY one there for check in on time. Half hour later others show up. Only 20 people of the 30 drawn show up. That is good news for me I guess. They have us draw for seats and I draw table 2 seat 5. We take our seats and the tourny director explains the structure. The tourny is NO LONGER than 2 hours. The director will change the blinds at any time based on how long the tourny is taking. If the tournament is not over at the end of 2 hours (8:30pm) the chip leader wins. Now this is a great structure!!! SW $3,000 in starting chips. I decide to play tight for the first 10 mins or so to get a feel for the game. This was very interesting. EVERY SINGLE hand the dealer had to explain the blinds to someone and why they had to put them out. It was a string betting, illegal raising, acting out of turn triathalon. Out of 10 people at my table 3 new how to play. And one of them was giving out so many tells even I picked up on them. Here is the rest of the tourny summed up:crap player moves all in with AJ suited under the gun with blinds at 100-200 for $3,700 and retarded lady (the only lady) calls with 4 2 off and knocks him out on a board of j42T9. This is the whole recipe for the whole event. That chick was chip lead the whole game until we were 4 handed. blinds are now $1k $2k with a $1k ante (you heard me right welcome to the greatest structure of all time)Stupid chick was button, small blind only had $400 more than big blind and BB was all in on his blind. I was UTG. I have 88 and I push all in for $17k trying to isolate the blinds from stupid chick who had $18k. it worked, barely and just as suspected the small blind called and we were 3 way all in. SB k2off BB had 73off and I had 88 and they hold. Welcome to heads up.I move all in 2 hands in a row and take it down for a $800 prize pack vip trip to vegas!What a boring read. So there were three blinds -- or ten -- or what? Or no blinds and just antes ... what? I'm confused.

Sounds like what my home game compatriots did to me as I was short-stacked but heads up and rolling toward my 4th win in a row.

Thanks. But I am not denying that I am a total luck box.Early on I had AQ suited and the dude to my left raised. I reraised and it folded around and he called. Flop? You guessed it AQA. And my opponent held A4 suited. I doubled. That was my second favorite hand. My first favorite hand was when crazy chick tried to bluff and 2 others picked up on her because she couldn't keep a str8 face and they both called her with K high to her 9 high and they split it.....they called the turn AND the river!

I was thinking it was going to be some kind of really cool new game that I've never even heard of before, maybe something where you have to grab the hooter's girls boobs and "hold'em" for a long period of timelast one standing without cathing wood is the winnerwhat a dissapointment...
