  1. Could you elaborate on this one? I notice these things but have a hard time applying them when the times comes....
  2. MY AJ diamonds went down to KQ off. Finished fifth. Thanks for everyone's encouragement. S
  3. Ax suited. Bad call. I knew it right away. should have folded. I'm just trying to play aggressive at this point. Five left.
  4. Yep, I'm BCPoker. My flopped set just lost to runner runner flush. ouch. 6 left.
  5. I know this is old hat to most of you, but I've made my first final table in a MTT. Small buy in. 3 +.3 on stars. 1880 entries. Have been doing pretty well in the last few, so it feels great to finally make it this far. Thanks to all of you for your advice and tips in your posts.
  6. For the point where you either need to go all in or fold, that makes sense. But is there a point where you have to stop being selective about your cards and say, "no matter what I get, I have to push all in on one hand during this round"? Is that still 6x the cost of the round, or is it somewhere less than that?
  7. I played my first casino tournament last night: the 50+15 at the Taj. Finished 25th out of 217, so I was pleased with making it that far. (7 away from the money)But with about 50 left, I began the process of getting blinded down to the point of having only enough chips left to call the big blind when I was eliminate. I wasn't prepared for how fast the levels increased, particularly with the antes getting so big. Overall, my problem was that I was playing too tight at the beginning so I never built up enough of a stack to make some moves. But my question for you all is what is the point when I
  8. OK - don't spend your money there. If you want Daniel's poker chip set, buy it else where. Now if you're saying that you WON'T buy Daniel's product because Wal-Mart is selling it, that's just F-ed up.Also, make sure you're not wearing Nike's, Old Navy clothing, Levis, watching a television, listening to something on a portable CD player, using a cell phone, etc. or you too are supporting the "un-American" bastards you are so adamant about in your postings.I echo the sentiment - GET A LIFE!!Everyone has to draw their line somewhere. I never called Walmart un-American... in fact, they are quin
  9. Daniel,Given how socially conscious you seem to be, I'm surprised you would sell your products at Walmart. I understand you are also a businessman, and therefore need to sell your chips at the nation's biggest retailer, but are you familiar with Walmart's track record: discrimination against women, discrimination against people of color, paying illegal immigrants substandard wages, forcing overtime hours without paying people for them?I don't mean to be hyper-critical, but just wanted to make sure you were aware of these things.

  11. Does anyone have any read on bets in online poker that aren't in standard incriments (like 50, 150, 400, etc)I'm at a table now where the pot was 615 and two large stacks are in the hand. One bets 810, which has no relation to his stack or his opponents stack. Also, I've seen people bet 77, 156, etc... other weird numbers.I'm not quite sure what to make of the first situation. But on the latter point, I think strange bets are generally a sign of strength... i.e. indicating that the betting player is just "screwing around" or something like that. Any thoughts on that?Any strange bets you guys wi
