Roger Clemens charged with perjury in steroid case40 minutes ago WASHINGTON(AP) —A federal grand jury on Thursday indicted seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens for allegedly lying to Congress about using steroids.Clemens faces charges of obstruction of Congress, making false statements and perjury.The former Major League baseball pitcher and his former trainer, Brian McNamee, testified under oath at a 2008 hearing before a House committee and contradicted each other about whether Clemens had used the banned substances..

I do because I hate that guy. Not convinced he should have ever had to testify in the first place though. Those steroid hearings were such a joke. And I do not think he deserves jail time.....but again I hate that guy so it would be amusing. Unjust, but amusing.

I just never liked him.....no specific reasons really other than when he threw the bat at Piazza.

It's not that I don't like him, but I have absolutely no respect for him at all. I hope that he has to do some jail time.

I like the part where he was told he didn't have to testify to Congress, but he wanted to do it anyway to clear his name. Well played.

Yeah I didn't even realize that he had volunteered to testify. What an idiot. Not sure that criminal prosecution is really warranted though. Like, his aura of superhero-dom is gone, he's humiliated, that's probably good enough.

Fiscal responsibility = putting a guy worth $250 million dollars in jail because he lied about something Congress had no business worrying about. Now we can pay for him. Great.
