and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

you proposing soon?

lol no.

I'll probably be moving my play downtown because the majority of the outfits on the strip (Caesar's Group and MGM Resorts) have crossed the threshold on how much I'm willing to allow them to chisel me. First, it was changing the odds on a natural blackjack. After that, it was raising almost all the table minimums from $5 to $10. Then it was downsizing the cocktail staff so it takes 3 times as long to get a drink while gambling. Then there's the resort fees (which when I started going regularly a few years ago were only 20 bucks a night and are now 32 per night) so even a "free" night offer isn't free and no free parking at the hotel (granted this one doesn't really hit me). Now they're not even offering a free drink while gambling, you have to gamble X amount to earn a cocktail. I'm thinking there is just more value down on Fremont and they've really made some strides to clean it up and attract some really solid restaurants etc. If I got better offers from the Wynn I'd move back to the north end of the strip, but I won't stay at Adelson owned property because of his non-union position.

heading to vegas a week from tomorrow. kind of a snap decision but decided I need some quality "me" time. no kids, no gf. just me and my annual bonus (which came out to about 10% of annual salary, yes I invested some pre-tax so don't blow a gasket strat) and the craps table. Most likely going to be my last stay at the MGM properties or even on the strip in general. We'll see how harsh the policy of tracking your play making you "earn" a free drink is. I like being able to drop a hundo in the video black jack machine, hit max bet once and getting a cocktail for anywhere from -5 to +6 bucks. I miss beans. I would love to read his tirade about the new drink policy, being charged for parking, and how unchecked corporate nonsense is ruining Vegas.

lol no.

You have blown my mind. I can't even imagine a casino charging for parking, or a NV casino not freely giving out drinks. I have to pay for alcoholic drinks at my local tribal casino so I'm used to that to some degree. I guess when you only have 2 main owners on the strip, when they change policies there's no one else to undercut them. That's what the lack of competition in an industry does to you. Anyway, I would stay at the Golden Nugget, play is not bad out there, and just run into the strip if there were something I wanted to do there. Depending on what the parking fee was.

That's good. You had me worried. They do chisel a man, but I'm gonna stay at the Wynn next time I go. Just love that place.

Back like '08 or '09 I got a mailer of 3 free nights at the Wynn. Figure I must've been on some casino host's rolodex and the downturn panicked him enough to mass mail free nights. It was a really nice place. That's where I learned to play craps.

It was middle of the afternoon and the tables were dead. I was the only one sitting at a 3 card poker table and was bullshitting with the dealer and offhandedly mentioned I would love to learn to play craps. He says, my buddy is on a craps table right now and the table is empty, tell him I sent ya. I flipped him a few reds and headed on over. I asked for the dude and told him the other dealer had sent me so he could teach me craps. He said he was going on break but this guy here is Ray from Brooklyn and he's going to get you sorted out. So I start out rolling and I'll be damned if don't get the beginner's hot hand. I'm rolling sevens, sixes, eights, and points like out of Ocean's 13. I'm betting 10 a number with 20 more in odds and instead of tipping I'm betting for the dealer. A guy walks up and joins the action, betting the pass line with odds and passing the dice back to me to continue rolling. A few rolls later he cashes out for around 250 and says "Thanks brother, I was down to my last hundred!" We're having a blast and the floor comes over and says "I like your style, I'm gonna get you a comp at the cafe. I played until I had to piss so bad I was about ready to let it go at the table. I end up cashing out for about 5 or 6 bills and I've never had a hotter hand at the table as I did that afternoon. It's like heroin, I'm still chasing that first high.

This was also the same trip when I had a nice hour or two at the poker table, got shitfaced and paid for a VIP couch at Wasted Space at the Hard Rock just so had a place to sit.

One shouldn't overlook the large corporation attitude at play here either. You're not a customer, you're just a number in their mathematical calculation on shareholder value.

I was looking at The D (heh). Friend of mine that has been to Vegas a few times, almost exclusively downtown, said she really liked the place and they have some old school games upstairs.

Their getting pretty cocky though. 10 years ago, less probably, they were still getting their asses handed to them from the recession and, as you point out, begging people to come to town. I suspect there will be a fair number of people telling the strip casinos to go fvck themselves. And, I've been reading how the convention business is down. This isn't going to help that.

You know how a lot of people will post a picture of their gear and folded up clothing and shoes and everything laid out on a table or bed or w/e before they put it on to run or work out? My partner caught me jerking off to one of xers on IG. For Valentine's Day, xe blindfolded me and lead me into the bedroom. Candles were lit, and xer hottest and most practical gear were all laid out. I got a reach around while staring at this. We've entered a post-sexual age of erotosism, and I urge you all to abandon your addiction to the human form and to start fetishizing gym clothes as an abstraction.

I tried toasting my hamburger buns in a pan on the oven today. Huge improvement. Getting better by the day.

wrong.

butter them and put them on a hot skillet or, preferably, a griddle.

And I may have read "on the oven" as "in the oven" thinking broiler toasted.

but yeah, that's a game changer, especially with quality buns.

Last week with the Reagan museum was possibly the best thing I've seen since Atlanta.

I'm glad you liked it. I'm still kicking myself for not making it there while I was living down there. Before you guys hammer me for not going, the Reagan Museum is on the far Western edge of Simi Valley, not far from the Pacific as the Seagull flys and I lived way south East of there with the notorious LA traffic in between. When I was working on the road it was really hard to talk myself into to doing long car trips on the weekend.

Guapy, what the fvck are the Kings doing? I'm all for trading Boogie, but that haul isn't worth a damn.

What happened?

The Sacramento Kings are not going to trade Boogie. They're going to re-sign him to a $200 million deal this summer. Book it!
