hank213 1,823
Normally I don't rename pets I adopt but I made an exception here. His name is now Randolph Barnaby Lion King [my last name here], Randy for short. The "lion king" bit was his o.g. name that I thought was stupid but felt I had to hang on to so as to not completely abandon my habit of not renaming older pets. strategery, yesterday I thought my XOM idea might be getting a little validation. I heard some financial channel talking heads just ever so briefly mention Russia as they were discussing the permian basin news.
BigDMcGee 3,352
Good on ya, Hank, even if it is a cat. I'm afraid if I ever got a house that I would end up adopting every senior animal at the shelter just so they have a home for their remaining life. So you want to go through the pain of having a pet die every 6 months? hard core masochism, I respect that
InternetExplorer 2,609
Have you looked at Kansas City Southern (KSU)? I think it is the least stupid Trump related play. I honestly don't know much about XOM. I have to wonder whether any one deal is enough to move the needle for a company that huge.
Tiltinagain 973
Keep on keepin' on, Tilt. Got my 2 meds that were being held up but also, somehow, got a script for oral Dilaudin to go along with my oral oxy. Not sure how I pulled that off except everyone assumes when you have cancer and/or are on chemo you must be in constant pain. Thankfully that's not close to true, at least for me, except for the first 3 or 4 days after chemo. If things start to look like they're not working out I figure I can sell enough oxy and dilaudin to keep my wife going for a while. nice cat, hank. what's his name? hope brvy isn't dead, i need to know he saw KU win the other night. tilt, make sure you check in. hope your well enough soon to get back to the poker room. I'm here. Just been sleeping a lot. I'm really wanting to play. If not this weekend next for sure.

Napa Lite 3,278
So you want to go through the pain of having a pet die every 6 months? hard core masochism, I respect that I'm depressed all the time anyways, might as well give myself an actual reason to be. Brvy: I went to "Eatery A" off of Ingersoll last night with some friends and tried their pizza. Might be new favorite DSM area pizza. It was very good and it was even half price since it was before 6.

brvheart 1,752
Pro Bowl is in Orlando. I will be sure to avoid that area I hate it when it's not in Hawai'i. I don't know why I care where millionaires get to hang out, but for some reason Hawai'i makes it feel like a bigger reward and it makes me happy. Brvy: I went to "Eatery A" off of Ingersoll last night with some friends and tried their pizza. Might be new favorite DSM area pizza. It was very good and it was even half price since it was before 6. I've been there once and really enjoyed it, but nothing beats going to Big Tomato at 11pm on a random Tuesday. The cashier drinking a beer, with the glow of a big green neon sign that says "Lousy Service". I seriously love it. Their pizza is awesome if you get the crazy stuff. Assblaster is my favorite, but the asparagus and broccoli or alfredo and honey are both great too.

Napa Lite 3,278
Yanno, I've never had big tomato pizza. I just assumed by the name it was deep dish Chicago style casserole. But it looks good. I'll give it a try.

Tiltinagain 973
Speaking of pizza, my youngest works at a pizza place about 1/2 mile away. The owner is he worst marketer of her business I've ever seen. She has no website, no social media presence, doesn't do coupons etc... And the thing is, they are the only pizza place on this side of town so she should be owning the market. She's closing the store just about this time next month rather than renewing her lease. Actually I guess it sounds like she's selling the business so it sounds like it will stay open in some form. The point of this is I really wish I had the money to buy the place myself. I think it's a little gold mine if someone was in there that knows how to manage and market a business.

Essay21 2,385
People who don't text with emojis? Sad! At the office, living the dream. Bonuses get announced at the end of thof month so you gotta make a late push. Probably doesn't help but it certainly can't hurt.
InternetExplorer 2,609
Suited, you gonna get your CFP sometime? One of the JDs we hired had gone to school somewhere that counts for the modules, so he literally knocked it out in less than like three months.
Napa_Don 688
I won a pair of binoculars that has a 1.5 MP camera at the company holiday party saturday night. Time to move into a tall building in a real city, I guess.
Essay21 2,385
I've thought about both the CFP and the CTFA, but so far haven't pulled the trigger. Right now they wouldn't help me any, and my motivation is lacking. I should get both though.
InternetExplorer 2,609
They have made the CFP significantly easier now vs. just three years ago. So now would probably be the time, if it's in your plans. I dropped $1600 on a structured course, hoping to sit for the exam in July. I don't have to get another designation after the CFP, and I get a decent raise for having it, so it'd be pretty great to get it done.
