ibarra323 0
Whenever I flop top two pair in omaha/8 there is always two to a flush. What is the best way to play top two pair in a multi-way pot that has two to a flush?
Guest
Top two pair is a tough hand to play...regardless of the flush draw.W/ top two pair you almost always loose...someone will usually have 3 of a kind or a straight depending on the flop. So, essentially you are playing for a full house or the low draw (depending on your hand). If you have the low nuts, you should probably continue to play, but cautiously--you can easily get quartered here. If you don't have the low nuts, it all depends on the betting. W/ top two pair you have 4 outs for the FH--about 16% chance to hit your FH on the turn and river. If the betting is low and pot odds good, call for the extra card. Any bets that indidcate strength and you should get of it. If you run into someone who has trips--their odds of hitting the FH are bettor than yours. So, two pair is a weak hand with potential to be great--if the price is right, see if you make your FH--but don't invest much because most likely you have the 3rd or 4th best hand on the flop.If everyone has checked around to you, a small bet can help increase your odds of winning--a lot of people may fold if they don't have a draw or a hand already. But, you run the risk of having 1 person call. They may be on the high / low nuts and then you are in a tough spot if they raise aggresively and you don't hit your card. Absolute 0
Check/call top two pair with four to a flush. If there is four to a straight as well as to a flush, only call in a pot large enough to give you pot odds on the full house.

What is the best way to play top two pair in a multi-way pot that has two to a flush? You play top two pair in any omaha the same way porcupines make love... Very carefully. I'm not sure who I ripped that off of, but it's appropriate here. You don't want to value bet it, because sets appear so much more often. If you make the nut full house, bet it agressively to get the smaller full houses to pay you off.
