FML for dropping him in a keeper league. He was ok last year but I knew he was going to be out for at least the first month and who knows how long so I dropped him. He went for less in the auction but I let some other "sucker" get him. UghJason Bartlett is another guy playing out of his mind right now. Ibanez in the NL has exceeded expectations also.

All I have to say is that it's nice to have him on 2 fantasy teams. :club: I hope he's clean, he seems to be a good dude and a great player obviously.

he fell to the 7th round in my draft, and i had to take him there--thought he was a huge steal. clearly i don't expect him to sustain anything close to what he's been doing, but just having a catcher who hits for average is amazing. the added pop this year is a nice bonus.

not unusual at all for a player to find his power stroke around this age. he did not spend much time in the minors remember.

Steroids don't help you bat close to 400 after 2 months.I'd say the power numbers are a bit fluky, but it could be because he's on my fantasy team :club:

Idk if Mauer is a switch hitter, but if he is just a lefty, he is the best big hitting lefty white guy since Will "The Thrill" Clark if not better.

I got Mauer in the 11th round of my keeper league, and managed to snag Bartlett off the waiver wire early on when someone dropped him. Interestingly, I was in 12th/last place for the first 10 weeks of the season, but once Bartlett went out I've hopped right into 6th. Joey is the best though. And since I don't really have anywhere else to put this, Bill Welke issued a warning to the Cubs & Brewers in the 4th inning (I think). Brewers are up 1-0, and leading off the bottom of the 5th Suppan hits Jake Fox on the forearm with the first or second pitch of the inning on a fastball that ran inside. Welke just told Fox to go to first, there was no argument from Lou, and aside from the fans, everyone was happy with the result. Why can't more umpires use common sense in those situations? Almost every time a warning is issued, the next HBP results in an ejection, regardless of situation. A few years ago Kazmir had a no-hitter going and hit a Red Sox player after warnings had been issued early on. It's like the 5th inning of a no-hitter, you really think a 21-year old is going to risk his chance at a no-hitter by hitting a guy with a meaningless fastball? It's always bothered me, and I applaud Bill Welke, today, for his intelligent use of the warning-system.
