The day after he hit for the cycle...
Homer: Moe, I need your advice.
Moe: Yeah?
Homer: See, I got this friend named... Joey Jo Jo... Junior... Shabadoo.
Moe: That's the worst name I ever heard.

Who gives a shit team chemistry in baseball, though? I agree 100 percent with DL on that issue, team chemistry in baseball is a bunch of nonsense.
I cant imagine that everyone else on the team hating the star player is a good thing. worked for Reggie Jackson I guess. You are just better off having your leader actually be a leader. The Marlins bigger problem is cheapness.

I feel terrible for the ump (Joyce?) that blew the perfect game. Sure, it sucks a lot for the pitcher...sucks a LOT for the pitcher, I guess, since he probably lost out on his only chance to be a legitimate part of baseball history, but at least he can sleep well knowing he really should have had a perfect game and has gone a long way towards solidifying his position in the majors. Joyce not only has to deal with feeling terrible for blowing that call, but the fallout that's going to come from it.
You got a date Wednesday, baby!

Nothing better than watching a perfect game but no one will know it because of a ridic blow call. Oh well, I know Galalalalalarararafagaga threw a perfect game tonight.

Steve,

It doesn't matter who you start because you have a horse shoe up your ass so far I'm not really sure how you get through the day. You must be gay.

Just awful. Jim Joyce, by all accounts one of the better umps, will now always be known for this and this alone. Punishment fits the crime I guess. Galaragga showed a lot of class in how he handled it.

God damn softball, I missed this. I had multiple friends calling me to tell me of the outrage. On a semi-related note, one of my friends is named Jim Joyce, and he has always proudly accepted the umpire comparison. He was at softball with me, and had trouble comprehending how bad a call someone of his namesake could really make. After my 6th text and 3rd phone call, he started to get some grasp of it, but I wonder if my Jim Joyce will ever be the same.
I'd lend a hand, but it's stuck in the fist and gun position.

More people are going to hear know about this game than Dallas Braden's perfect game.

Yeah. For what it's worth, I totally agreed with what you posted about it in the hockey forum.I feel like this call is being talked about in five different threads.

greatest player of the 90's, probably in the top 5 all time....grew up watching him, always thought he'd be the one to break Aaron's record, too bad injuries beat him down so badly.

Strasburg! Can't wait for him to face a major league lineup. Did the Natinals turn their radar gun up a couple notches or can he really hit 101?
