  1. If by "playing them" you mean seeing a cheap flop and dumping them if you don't make a radical improvement then yeah, if you're feeling brave you could see a CHEAP flop or two in a loose game.If you hit a flush you have have to figure out if a bigger flush is out there. If four cards to the flush flop then you're really in deep water!Flopping two pair or a set is always a (slim) possibility.Personally I don't play those cards.
  2. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I would think that a straight flush would be the most common hand to win/lose with and qualify to win a badbeat jackpot in Texas Hold 'Em, but I brought this up at a table one time and I was told that it's not.
  3. Super System 1 & 2 ~ !!!!!!!!!!!!!Give Doyle Brunson his due!All other books are secondary! {Not sayin' they ain't GOOD, just saying they're SECONDARY!}
  4. Do you have to use a proxy?My laptop with Firefox (and WinXP OS) automatically searches for available WiFi networks.The thing I find amazing is how many people run open WiFi networks at home. I go over to a friend's house to help him sort out his computer, we need to download some updates and patches, he's still on 56K dialup. I turn on my laptop, pickup an open WiFi network with Comcast, download a bunch of driver updates and some free apps (like Firefox!) on the neighbors network, burn them to a CD, load the CD into his 'puter, and save about six hours of download time at 56K speeds. My
  5. Oh. you don't understand, these sunglasses have a $150 MP3 player built in ... $150 sunglasses + $150 MP3 player = $300! WTF? $495?No thanks, I like my sunglasses to be as light and comfotable as possible, and I'll opt for an MP3 player I can put in my pocket or hang off my neck.
  6. I had an ex-gf who choked my rooster over and over ...I think she did it on purpose and noone will ever convince me otherwise.I got back at her, I ate her cat one night. She screamed!
  7. Keith,You have an above average writing style, I really enjoyed reading your post.I hope you get your lost $20 worth in gloating capital and I think Kow was totally wrong to WELCH on his bet. You whooped his @$$ fair & square.Keep up the good work, if your prose is any indication of your play then I think you will be raking many more jackpots into your chip pile over the long haul.
  8. I think you have a pretty good read on Dutch.Has anyone here ever actually tried to give a cat a bath?GET OUT THE BANDAIDS if the pu$$y hasn't been de-clawed!Most cats hate water.
  9. I'll admit I haven't read all of your posts, but from the ones I've read I think I understand you pretty well,BTW, how does it feel to be a Calling Station at the $0.50/$1 online games?You're afraid to bet while fish are chasing draws to the end for three bucks.Why don't you move up to $3/$6 and play with some other people who really understand the game?Because you'd get your a$$ kicked maybe?You're a Calling Station!Where'd you finish in the DN Open Tournament?About 20 places behind some girl who was playing her FIRST online tournament ever?(And some smuck staked you ...)
  10. SAYS THE BIGGEST CHEAP~SHOT POSTER ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD!
  11. I haven't really gone extensively through Smasharoo's extensive (and boring) hand histories, but from the ones I have seen Smash is the Classic Calling Station.He frequently calls when a bold player would bet - it must be those awesome $0.50/$1 stakes that cause him to freeze-up when the fish are sucking out on the garbage hands for a buck or two.We'll see where he's at after 100 days in the $0.50/$1 pond.I can't wait to hear his excuses.Hey Smash, how did you do in the DN Open Tournament?I heard someone entered their girlfriend into that tournament (her first tournamnet ever) and she finishe
  12. It's just one of the lines that Keyboard Kommandos feel free to regularly cross. It's easy to be a Bad Ass (or more simply an Ass) with the Internet to hide behind.Smasharoo (or whatever you prefer to call him - "Smash" to his followers/groupies) has regularly taken every opportunity that he has perceived in his advantage to bully and belittle the other members of this forum. Keyboard bullies tend to be inferior IRL (In Real Life). I think your assessment of Smash and the Cheetos is probably very accurate.To read his posts you'd think he was God's Gift to Poker, but when the actual results
  13. ROTFLMAO~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Post of the Day~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that or I'd have a major clean-up to do right now.BTW, you can get large CRT monitors on Craig's List dirt cheap, everyone is going to flat panel LCDs.I got a two-year-old Dell 19" CRT monitor with a Sony Trinitron Pure Flat picture tube for $50, a few years ago people were paying over $500 for these things. I could've gotten a monster 21" CRT for $95, but I don't want one that huge, I don't have the desk space for it. Try to
  14. Hmm ... don't bother reading any of Slansky's books. The math is probably too deep for you.
  15. I'm not picking up that much emotion, Mr. Sklansky just seems to be espousing a theory that goes against what the majority of people in his field of expertise believe to be true, but which he believes is true, and he is confident that his viewpoint is correct, particularly in light of his recent string of tournament successes, many of those victories coming against those very people who have chosen to doubt him. He should not be faulted if he feels vindicated in his recent triumphs.He is merely pointing out that when the time came to put up or shut up he backed up his assertions and that his
