  1. No point in calling. If you call, you may as well put it all-in because I can imagine that there will be another re-raise here. My decision here would be based on my opponents cradability. If I really think that I still have the best hand, then I would either call hoping for another re-raise, or I min raise to suck out as much money as possible. If I have faith in their playing abilities, then i fold it.This hand all comes down to how well you know your opponents. No set move you can apply here.
  2. Only time you should make a bet here is if you bet less than half the pot, because that is the only way you'll have odds to catch on the turn. We can't play this hand like we have a 54% chance to make a hand. The turn has to be played as if we only have a 32% chance to make a hand. The problem is, if we bet the flop and get called (which is what happened) we've dumped away alot of chips on a 32% chance to hit. Now if we check and someone else bets out, then I am fully in favour of the check-raise on the flop because now we can get it in with a 54% chance to hit our hand and we represent so
  3. read my post above. A bet under the gun with this hand is an amature mistake. It may look like the right move with such a strong hand, but it most certainly isn't.
  4. I don't like the preflop bet. Just call seeing as you're out of position and there are too many players in.As played, I would even check the flop here. Just no point in trying to represent here. Most players are going to put you on a hand like J-J, Q-Q, or K-K and will re-raise any ace no matter what the kicker putting you on the spot. Checking keeps you out of trouble.
  5. The flop bet is one of the worst bets you can make in holdem.
  6. I would raise here. No point in seeing a flop unless BB thinks you have something good. You could limp if you want, but this gives the BB a chance to come over the top of you with a bet in position putting you in a tough spot. I think it's better to represent a decent hand here.As for the flop, I'm orobably going to lead out half the pot in almost any situation to find out if BB has anything. This will also give me some information for future reference. If BB continues, then I'll have to have a decent hand to make any more bets/calls. DN limps alot here because he's playing live tournament
  7. I think you played it just fine. Not much you can do without any reads.
  8. Hey e yankI'm bad at sugar coating things so I won't try to. I mean this in the utmost respect to you. I think you played the hand very poorly!I'll touch on pre-flop a bit but the real problem is on the flop. Pre-flop: There is no such thing as a standard raise amount in this situation. The idea of a bet from the blinds is the knock a couple players out and increase your pot odds. In this case, it didn't knock anyone out except the BB, which leaves you in a large pot for the current blind level, and out of position. I think 100-120 may have been a better bet for this table. On some tabl
  9. First hand is tough luck. What can you do? No room for limping with A-Q at this point in the tournament. After that, i would stop raising. Either lay down 5-5 or limp if you want, but try to figure out what is going on at this table before investing any more in a raise. The fact that in your first hand at the table there was a re-raise all-in preflop means that it probably isn't the first time it's happened. If it were me, I would fold the 5-5 to see what happens in the second hand. 5-5 is only mediocre at best anyways and I won't be willing to call a re-raise so why bother getting to in
  10. Couldn't put it any better myself.I would go as far to say that on some players a trap will really work in this situation, even if you call. I would still rather the move that you did at this stage in the tournament however.Also...I don't think that calling pre-flop with A-K is bad at all. Especially with no reads. The is no need to get yourself all-in at this point in the tournament. I would have played it the exact same way as you.
  11. you played it well. I would also argue for a continuation bet on the turn. the 8 is more than likely no help to anyone, so find out if villain still likes his/her hand.Again, I don't disagree with the way you played it either.
  12. Fair enough. I respect your opinion and I won't tell you either that raising with A-J or A-10 is horrible. The only reason I would call with those hands is because I see no reason to try and pick up the blinds in case I run into a big hand. I like to play alot of hands as it is, so an opponent of mine is very likely to attempt laying a trap against me in this situation thinking i'm being a bully. Perhaps it's our play style that decides which method works best for us.I don't mind going three handed to the flop with A-J or A-10 as I'm usually comfortable deciding whether or not i am beat.
  13. the small and big blind amount to 225. 225 does not make a difference to your stack right now.Personally I would actually rather play the three-way pot. It keeps the pot low, but if you end up with a really good flop like Q-10-4 you could rake in a big pot with a simple investment of 150.
  14. What does a raise get you in this position though?
  15. very well tyvmDon't get me wrong...10,000 is obviously better than 5,000, but it's not worth betting marginal hands in order to get to it. 5000 chips will serve you the same purpose in the early going until you can find a good situation to invest in
