serge 904
I think its time we start this thread and evaluate the trades...Lets start off with the big one just announced...Jody Shelley goes to San Jose for a 6th round pick....
Montreal_Est 0
I think the habs won't move. And I wouldn't be sad if they don't.I REALLY like the team right now.I'm sure some teams will pay too much for rental players and thats good news for you guys.

atomic_tea 0
Habs kinda need improvement on the 1st line, even if they got better in the last 1-2 weeks, still pretty weak...I wouldnt mind getting rid of Koivu or Ryder
runthemover 39
I heard San Jose is going to trade Marleau to Montreal for one of their Stanley Cup banners
coesillian 0
the Habs 1st line is fine, it's Koivu's line that needs help.see what i did there.lets go get Hossa!!!seriously, I don't know what it would cost us, but we've been looking for a big time scorer for a long time, him with Higgins and Koivu would be sick. The Kovalev line is a threat on the ice night in night out, they're the first line.Ryder isn't close to being a first line winger this year.

I wouldnt mind seeing Tanguay to the left of Koivu. It cant be worse than Ryder
Montreal_Est 0
Tanguay is costing too much , and i dont want to give any prospects for him.
digitalmonkey 929
The Thrashers website has removed Marian Hossa's picture from the main feature.Cue the Law and Order music.
Zach6668 513
I heard somewhere the other day that Ryder took all of his personal effects from the Bell Centre, dunno if that meant anything, or what.
Fenxis 99
Looks like there won't be a firesale in Toronto:http://www.torontosun.com/Sports/Hockey/20...827857-sun.htmlWith Cliff Fletcher apparently in for a tough fight getting any high-priced Maple Leafs to waive their no-trade clauses, the club could be resorting to a buyout or two.It was suggested by a panel on Hockey Night In Canada on Saturday that Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. already has put aside millions to clear the decks should interim general manager Fletcher's hands be tied at the trade deadline on Feb. 26....While Mats Sundin is reaching the end of a one-year contract and seems to be leaning toward re-signing as opposed to waiving his no-trade clause, forward Darcy Tucker and defencemen Pavel Kubina, Bryan McCabe and Tomas Kaberle all indicate they will dig in their heels if asked to go. digitalmonkey 929
Tucker has already indicated to the team he is unwilling to re-locate.And that's why you don't give aging, mediocre players no-trade clauses.P.S. He wouldn't need to relocate to play for the Marlies.
serge 904
Tucker has already indicated to the team he is unwilling to re-locate.a certain person in the know...a self proclaimed insider told us recently that Sundin Mccabe and Tucker would be moved...I on the other hand have been telling you people the trades that you think are easy are either not there, or just cant happen.. And if these players end up getting bought out it's the same thing.

The players have to co-operate. Tucker said no. Sundin, fyi, has agreed to move..
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Sundin, fyi, has agreed to move.. Havent heard that anywhere, so thanks for the info. Good for the Leafs. Now lets see how much they can get for him. Personally, I think it will be more than most of you have commented on. Good prospect, #1 pick, another high pick/prospect/player. 3 assets, or 2 very highly regarded ones. Pretty soon everyone is gonna find out Forsberg cant play or is too iffy, and realize Sundin is the best player available, costs be damned.

Sundin, fyi, has agreed to move..I know and realize in a perfect world the Leafs would trade Sundin,Tucker,Mccabe,Kubina and Raycroft to start..There is nearly half the payroll...However people dont realize that these are humans..Look at your own situation..If most of your employers came to you and said" we are moving you to Atlanta,Anaheim,Calgary.."how would you feel...Your wife and kids are here, your house, your family and friends...Its not easy for small kids to switch schools and not easy on the wife either.Yes they are professionals making millions, however they are also family men with wives and kids. MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Seems like a lot for a player that's an UFA. Yes/no?It is a lot. BUT, I think if certain factors come into play, the Leafs can get that....1. Wide open race to playoffs/Cup2. Team believes they are very close to Cup, have loads of prospects. (see Nashville last year)3. Team believes they are very close to playoffs+needs to make it for fan support (See Atlanta+NYI last year)4. Sundin difference maker, maybe only one on market. 5. Very few sellers at all this year.
